Will do Moose Stuff for money

If your phone doesn't charge, doesn't respond to the USB sync, doesn't boot after a restore, Doesn't respond to touch sensitivity, or generally just doesn't work.......
........ That's where I come in. (also I can cleanly install the custom iphone covers like the gold backplates and such!)
I've been an Electronics Engineer working with Aftermarket Lexus systems for 6 years and many on here have been to my site and seen my engineering design work. Some on here have used me to help fix their iPhone. Lately I have been hearing a lot of chatter for people who need iPhone hardware work and I just happen to be the guy that can help.
Some people on here (moderators and members) have sent their phone to me for diagnostics and if possible repair. If it can be done, I show YOU where to get the parts to send to me and what parts to get (usually ebay, but other sites for certain things). You control the cost of the repair because you buy the parts. You are not buying anything from me, I am not selling anything.
As this idea is in it's BETA stage, I am not charging any tech labor. Just be nice and give me a tip for any help I can provide in diagnostics or repair.
To give you an idea of what the going tech labor rates are in the electronics repair industry, this is flat rate across the board meaning everyone usually gets the same price.......
$65-80 per hour tech labor fee for repair, minimum of 2 hours.
$75-100 diagnostics fee whether it gets fixed or not.
That is ANY electronics repair be it tv's, amplifiers, cameras, whatever. That's what the industry demands for it's labor prices.
In this BETA stage of working on this iPhone repair business and seeing how many people are interested in me helping them repair their phones hardware issues, There is NO LABOR CHARGE and I do not sell parts. This means your tips are all that I get. There is no set tip, you give what you want to give. There is no minimum, but god help you if you send me $1 and ever need help again....
There is no need to feel obligated to give me a tip if you get diagnostics only and the phone is too far gone to repair.... the reality is that you'll likely get money from ME, as I need your parts and will make an offer on them. I might just need the COM board, I might need the screen, I might need the flex cable, I might need it all......... It's better for me to repair your phone than to buy it or any part of it for parts because when I get it fixed you tell your buddies "This dude got me working again". So, I'm much more likely to actually get you back up and running than to ask you for parts from your dead phone. As a side note, if I can't fix it..... nobody can.
As for me, my business is established with people sending me over 5,000 Lexus units in 6 years and each Lexus unit is over $1400.00 so your little $250 iPhone is safe.
Paypal verified 700+ business premier member, and both my paypal and ebay account date back to 1999 and 2001 respectively.
PM me here . I've got 200+ business emails for my company coming in daily so it will be easier.
If this works we'll throw another log on the fire and throw a big banner across the top of the site like I have done with Lexus.
Wanna see some of my work? http://www.modmyi.com/forums/general...-i-y-pics.html
http://www.modmyi.com/forums/general...hone-work.html
Post here before sending a PM so I can keep up with you if you want me to help you get your phone straight.
We'll see how this goes.
If there is enough support for this MMI will have it's own in house iPhone repair center.Last edited by one1; 11-04-2008 at 01:42 PM.

Really awesome to have helped some of you guys so far.
80% of the phones have been repairable.
This is what came in this week. Only 2 were beyond the grave from this pile.
As I collect more parts phones I buy when they are too dead to repair it will be easier for me to build one from scratch so I'll likely always be able to build a phone if someone needs one.

Man, finally found someone who word for word has diagnosed my wife's phone issues. When you hack an iphone (I have been doing it since 1.1.1) you automatically think that when the phone craps out that it is something with the hack or an instability issue with modding in general. However, we have been running on 2.1 quickpwn for a long while and all of the sudden my wife's phone just started acting weird. First, it wouldn't charge/sync to the computer. Then the speaker and entire audio crapped out. Then the home button quit working. Well, the only way she could bring it back to the apple store was to have it stock, right? Well, I could still SSH into the thing, so I made it as stock as possible, only quickpwn changes the darn boot logo and recovery or DFU image as well. I used logome in cydia to get the boot logo back to the stock apple instead of the pineapple, but I cannot figure out where that darn cartoon of steve jobs saying "npebea!" is at!!!!
Also, I figured it was a hardware issue because my wife said ******* it! and started banging the thing on the bar and, shazam!!!! the home button started working again!! However it still will not connect to the computer or itunes so I cannot restore it to factory. It will charge from a wall/car charger just fine, but not the computer!!! That just doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, should I take a shot at bringing it to apple and if they don't take it back, maybe you could get it fixed for me? She can make calls and the person can hear her, but she cannot hear the person on the other side. Let me know, I'll shoot you this message in a PM as well. Thanks

I'll try that. Hey, after I posted here last night, I figured the flex cable or something is going bad or losing solder connection because I plugged it in to the computer again and started tapping it (lightly) on my desk on the bottom corner of the phone and all the sudden it connected to itunes, started charging, phones sounds came back and all!! So to my amazement I gently set it down and started a restore only to have if fail 1/4 the way through and lose connection again! Now I am back to where I was with no audio and no sync/charge through computer. I'll just do a reset and have my wife bring the turd back to apple again and let her do her thing and get a new one (she's good at that, ha ha!). If they don't take it back, I'll ship it to ya for a good ol' fashion fix er up!! Thanks

Electronics are not like electrics. The parts on the flex cable are several SMD's and SMT's. If they fail they can come and go, but are still bad.
