I don't mind working with 2g, but 3g support is limited due to it being a single mobo, once it dies it
s pretty much screwed, but I can always try.iMac 27" i5 quad 2.8Ghz (1TB), MacBook Pro 17" 2.6, iPhone 4s

Since people continually write me asking "how much can you fix my phone for" and don't bother reading the OP, I'm just sticking this here so you know........this is the reason I delete your PM without responding.

Ok so the bottom of a big heavy mug feel on my phone. It cracked the screen and I think whats helping it stay together is the plastic cover I put when I first bought it. I can feel a bump on the screen though and the area its at the touch screen works. If I wanted to repair it myself could I get away with just purchasing the replacement glass screen with digitizer or do I need the whole assembly?
This is where I'm thinking of purchasing it: iPhone 3G & 3GS - iPhone 3G Parts
If you know of a better place to purchase it please let me know.

If you are getting a red battery symbol it doesn't always mean it needs a battery. Bad comm board will do it as well, so if that is your symptom beware.

The phone does not show a red battery symbol anywhere but it does lose it's charge rather quickly. It lasts maybe about 4-6 hours with normal use. I have had it since 9/07. Also the home button sometimes takes a couple of pushes for it to work. Let me know if you think you can fix it so I can send it to you.
Thanks

Well it has the symptoms of both a bad flex cable and a bad comm board. It's one or the other. PM for addy.

It's usually MOBO (hardware) at that point. I've never seen one come back around unless the comm board was replaced IF that was the issue on that phone. May wanna sell that one.

I have just conducted the first re-flow of an iPhone with water damage. Worked like a charm and this guy is getting a working phone back.
Previously just dead from water damage.

I've got a few flex cables, a few prox cables, a few things for the 3g and 3gs laying around so I might can help get a few going nowadays. The 2g stuff has dwindled down to a bunch of broken stuff in a pile. Going to try and work on the newer stuff if possible since it is the only thing worth putting money into now. Most people just give up on the 2g phones.
I haven't done that many phones this year so people must be getting a lot of FREE help out there.iMac 27" i5 quad 2.8Ghz (1TB), MacBook Pro 17" 2.6, iPhone 4s

My screen just broke!
I have a 3gs and I just dropped my phone. Everything still works like normal but the glass is spidered on the better part of the top half. Luckily, I have a screen protector that kept it from shattering. I need your assistance!

They are not that hard to swap screens on. Follow a tutorial on the web and if you can't do it let me know
