Awesome! I'm still figuring out the iPad Retina emoji recompile!

I can "optimise" the emojis as the iOS expects via the Xcode "pngcrush" binary.

    That's the first hurdle achieved!

The next is writing the emojis in a declared order but as one contiguous file like the iOS expects! So I've been reading up on python to do this!

Basically (or not basically) I need the script to do this at this stage!

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1407930679.589720.jpg

Manually is not really an option! Ugh

Resizing and recompiling aside, nothing prevents from doing so. For private use I mean.
The theme in my posts is 3 4 All, by Sk37cH.

The numerous versions released, and infinite versatility, beats IconOmatic mods. By quality.

I have no android devices to investigate.
    Depends on the format really.

The iOS emoji .ttf is made up with 2 formats.

    .artwork byte data e.g uint8 (0-255) values for R,G,B,A

optimised png format for the iPad retina emojis. OR byte swapped RGBA -> BGRA.

I'd almost assume Android wouldn't go to these lengths...

If u can find an Android emoji .ttf file I can take a look. There are also forums dedicated to android emoji which may serve u better. I stumbled onto a few of these...

    Emoji Tool Update:

I haven't been speaking to Chris lately but I have been working on the emoji extractor/recompiler tool.

The reason why at this stage is to recompile the 3rd set of emojis via a script. Manually doing it seems painstakingly tedious.

So I've dived into the Python programming to put together a python script to achieve this.

I've actually had steady progress & success.

Managed to get some basic arguments to analyse the png thrown at the tool.

e.g Optimised pngs (for the 6.0.X - 7.1.X third set of emojis) & Normalised pngs.

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1409141924.929830.jpg

I've managed to replicate the 176 byte section expected at the start of an emoji asset catalogue. Essentially it's a 4 byte chunk (00 00 15 44) written 44 times!

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1409141410.346207.jpg

And heres Apple's version within the emoji .ttf file!

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1409141448.607927.jpg

So that's that ticked off! CHECK!

At the beginning of each emoji png, there is a 4 byte null section added along with a 4 byte "iOS" "png " pointer to the actual emoji.

So I got that written up last nite...

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1409141597.056470.jpg

Next step was to actually apply that 8 byte data chunk to the emoji png imported! That way when it imports every png it'll add that automatically!

    Like so!

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1409141667.586157.jpg

So what's left is quite a bit really but the two hurdles to overcome are:

Working out the offset addressing (4 byte blocks per emoji) to each emoji after the 176 byte section & space reserved for the offset table.

Getting the tool to import the pngs of a given directory & as per a declared list.

    At least it's a start...

I also seen this, BytaFont2 as far
as I can tell is expecting the AppleColorEmoji .ttf file NOT images.

Images would more suited under WinterBoard.

I couldn't actually apply a themed emoji .ttf thru BytaFont.

Maybe someone else has had better luck?

    @Everyone! Here LOL

You put a folder in "MyFonts2" called "Emoji
    var/mobile/library/Myfonts2/Emoji/WhateverName.font

    AppleEmoji.ttf in .font folder~

    -_-

Could not replace my stock font back in the system for some reason.... maybe a reinstall -
I have the Stock Emoji.tff as a theme in there for now.

    Default ironman emojis by ChrisGraphiX
I think he's instructing us to create a new folder in "MyFonts2" and name it "Emoji". Then make a new folder inside "Emoji" and name it something like "IronMan.font".

Then add that .ttf file inside the new folder you made (IronMan.font/ in this example). I haven't tried, but after reading the comment several times, that's what I think he's instructing. Cheers.

Yip that's what my second pic shows. I even added the original other ttf files on there & no luck. Unless I'm doing something wrong still...

Sorry, I'm on mobile, and missed one folder step. I've adjusted my post accordingly. There's no "Whatever.font" folder in your screen. I'd wait for him though, as I've not tried it yet. Cheers.

EDIT: Back on PC, so I can explain what I see a little better. Sorry.

The file hierarchy as I can see from the post in question should be as such (where "IronMan.font" folder is whatever you choose your font to be):

    "var/mobile/library/Myfonts2/Emoji/IronMan.font/AppleColorEmoji.ttf"
