8-Bit HD by ToyVan

Available in Cydia & Themeit!!

8-Bit HD is yet another creative addition to the unique and "outside-of-the-box" themes offered by ToyVan. Each icon has been created in stunning color, detail and the quality of HD to take advantage of your iDevice's display. 8-Bit is a Uni-sex theme, which means it is for all the girly-girls(and boys), & those grizzly males who feel the need to be hip and fresh. This theme suits anyone who loves old-school, 8-bit style graphics & sounds, combined with a new-school interpretation. Enjoy!

ATTENTION: Default apps that I feel don't frequently get used are not themed(Compass, Notes, Calculator etc.). However, it will be complete enough to keep you satisfied! I realize this will not make some of you happy, but I can't please everyone and life does go on

FAQ
NOTE: You may need to reboot device after installation

Winterboard setup
Open WinterBoard and make sure 'SummerBoard Mode' is OFF. Then put theme options in exact order below:

-8-Bit_SBWidget (puts weather + date widget on springboard)
-8-Bit_LSWidget (puts HTC style weather + date widget on lockscreen)
-8-Bit_Sounds (replaces default UI sounds with retro custom 8-bit sounds - optional)
-8-Bit_LSWall (puts custom 8-bit wallpaper on lockscreen - optional)
-8-Bit (main theme folder - always have selected)

SBSettings
8-Bit SBSettings theme is included with download. Open SBSettings and go to More>SBSettings Theme>8-Bit

8-Bit font
Install BytaFont via Cydia then install 04b03 font.

Folder & Multi-task background
NOTE: I highly recommend 'FolderEnhancer'(found in cydia). It is a PAID app but it's a MUCH better folder alternative and themes automatically.

1. Install 'iWipeCache' via Cydia.
2. SSH into your device and navigate to private/var/stash/Applications.xxxxxx/iwipecache.pp
3. Open the 'run' file and replace all the code with the following:

rm -rf /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.0
rm -rf /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.1
rm -rf /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.2
rm -rf /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.3
/usr/bin/killall SpringBoard

4. Save & respring.
5. Run iWipe cache again!

Changing Wallpaper
To use your own wallpaper on springboard and/or lockscreen you will have to manually SSH into your device. Follow the steps below.
1. SSH into your device and navigate to private/var/stash/Themes.xxxxxx/8-Bit.theme(for springboard) or 8-Bit_LSWall.theme(for lockscreen)
2. Replace [email protected](8-Bit.theme folder) or LockBackground.png(8-Bit LSWall.theme folder) with one of your own. Make sure the size & name of your new image is the same as the custom images your replacing.
3. Respring device!

LS & SB Weather(using iFile)
Follow steps below to change weather to your city:
1. Go: Yahoo! Weather
2. Enter your City or zip code(press enter), then click on the "Extended Forecast" option underneath the "6-10 DAY"
3. In the top address bar of your browser you'll see an address, for example: "http://weather....USNY0996...." (This is the code that you need, for example: USNY0996)
4. SSH into your device and navigate to private/var/stash/Themes.xxxxxx/8-Bit_LSWidget.theme or 8-Bit_SBWidget.theme/Lockbackground.html or Wallpaper.html
5. Open HTML file with 'text viewer' option
6. Click 'Cancel' then' Edit'
7. Replace string "USUT0226" with your city code
8. Press 'Done' then 'Save'
9. Respring device

SBWidget setup(Iconoclasm)
To setup your springboard when using the SBWidget(as seen in above screenshot), follow these steps:
1. Install 'Iconoclasm' via Cydia.
2. Go to Settings/Iconoclasm/Layout
3. Select '5x5 (from 1.0)'
4. Arrange icons in a 3x3 layout so the widget is fully visible(3 rows of 3 icons for each springboard page)

I think themeing is about challenging ourselves now. Anyone can make a "dark" theme with layer styles. Ive learnt this myself after EIGHTosHD and my new "secret" projects Im working on now.

I say go for it!
