The info is right inside of the XML file that is generated by WW. I believe if you look in the "base" file that comes with WW, it has these listed. Otherwise it's basically the same code as "City" but just "extraLocCity" or "extraLocNeighborhood" or "extraLocState" etc...

If you install ww. And have a WB theme on. Then remove WW. your theme will stay intact, UNTIL YOUR CACHE CLEARS. (Which WB does on respring)

    TEST:
    Install WW
    Have a winterboard theme running
    Remove WW
Then go into WB and deselect & reselect the same theme.
    Respring

Your stuff will be all jacked.

A quick reinstall of WB will fix this. You don't have to remove it and reinstall, just reinstall option from Cydia.

It's been this way on every JB since 7.0. Tested and confirmed on iPhone 4, iPad 3. iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPad Air.

As to there being a problem when it uninstalls - nobody would really ever need to uninstall it - right?.. For what it's worth I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times on 7.0.6 and nothing happened to my WB.. So maybe that's a 7.1.x thing?

I rarely disagree w/you, MJ.. .. On this one - we see it very differently. WW has been in the top 5 most stable tweaks I've ever used.

@Ian - THANKS!!!! Love the two config.js switches you added!!!
But let's call it 7.0 !! You know?!
I never said it wasn't stable for use. All I said was it has no use for me since I prefer var locale.

There's no need to do that MJ. It's not a question of whether I believe u or not, I just never heard of this in the year that this tweak has been out. If this is what happens then that's a problem that should be fixed. I'm doing it now, I'll let u know if that's what happens to me.

I am. I stated that I'll continue with v6.4 since that will be the last version that doesn't require WW. And I do have the ability to mod it how I like. Others may not. I was just throwing my 2 cents in on Ian's decision. Seems no one actually READ what my earlier post SAID before "assuming" or "inferring" some hidden meaning.

I said that I am saddened by the fact that I will no longer be able to use the new releases, but that I definitely understand the simplicity on Ian's part to only have to update one version going forward.

I in no way expressed any instability with the use of the WW tweak itself. I simply stated that I prefer to have location services OFF on my phone.

I also expressed something that I have personally noticed with the WW Tweak that has not been brought to anyone's attention, largely in part because (generally) no one removes it once it's installed. I, however, do and have done so multiple times.

In no way did I say that I would NOT be using UniAW. I simply said that I'd be using 6.4... Which is what your post suggests that I do.

Ian, I never meant to hijack the thread. I apologize. Thought you were asking for peoples opinions on your decision. Had I known this was going to become a riot, I would not have said a darned thing.

Calm down everyone, there isn't a riot, that's an extreme characterization of him just asking a question.

I tested out what u said MJ. It didn't happen on my i5 but it did happen on my i4. I however did not have to reinstall winterboard like you said. All I had to do is select a different theme and all was fine. There wasn't a need to reinstall anything. I then selected my original theme and that worked as well. It just seems to be an issue with selecting the same theme and it not clearing the cache. Probably more of a winterboard issue as Simon and I have seen this with other tweaks and winterboard.

Thanks for bringing this up MJ. As I stated earlier, I never heard of this and I appreciated the info.

I for one will still be using a non WW base due to the fact it just doesn't work for me. Never has. None do actually. I think that's due to the fact that I'm in Canada and for some reason my weather uses a US source. The airport across the river. As a modder I totally agree with Ian's decision. Much easier to update.
As for removing WW I've had this bug. And it was reported by me waaayy back in the beginning.

Makes sense bombmom. Everyone should just use the version that works best for them. Others have always defended their preferences, no harm in that either.

Ian only wanting to support WW is no difference than June wanting to never support it. Everyone has their reasons and they are all valid. Only difference is in this scenario is that Ian's UNIAW code is free so others can change it up however they like. Much like Dacal did with Junes Cydget by adding WW support for personal use except he couldn't share it publicly.

All is good. Please let's not make it more than that.

Location services does open you up to potentially unwanted knowledge of your location. I understand some people's concern about that - not to mention additional battery drain.

But the trade off is too great for me. So I leave it on only for maps and WW.

I was able to reproduce the bug following MJ's steps. And can also confirm Krima's caveats.

Thanks MJ for bringing this to our attention.

You all have your reasons for wanting to use WW. I have my reasons for not wanting to.

I miss the days when all you needed was WB to run widgets. Now I have to have a combination of SB HTML "players" (iWidgets or SBHTML), a lockscreen "player" (groovyLock, cydget, LHTML, convergence-- and yes I've paid for ALL of the paid ones), now I'm going to need another tweak... That while stable, won't work on my device, because I don't use location services. EVER. Not for safari. Not for maps, not for weather. NOTHING. Not because i don't want people to know "where I am" as Grant inferred, but I explain in detail below.

We complain about the constant safe mode crashes on our devices with pass code lock on... Well, FYI, I've been running smash with all animations on with Touch ID and alphanumeric pass code on for months. I crash once every 10-14 days. (Which is probably about the same frequency that most JB'en devices do) The crashes you experience with this particular set of circumstances have noThing to do with pass code lock itself. It has to do with the lack of ram and the way apple allocates it. They've allocated it poorly with iOS 7.

In regards to the WW tweak- I don't see it as a particularly ram heavy tweak. No more than most. But every MB counts in iOS 7. Tweaks, no matter how small the footprint, use ram. Stock apple stuff like pass code lock and location services use ram. Background app refresh uses ram. And the more tweaks/services enabled, the ram usage adds up. This is fact.

We all have to weigh what's more important. You want GPS and location updating services with animated widgets, you turn off pass code. Me? I upgraded from an iPhone 5 specifically FOR the touchID. let's be honest. The 5S Isn't that much of an upgrade from the 5. Sure, you get a fingerprint sensor, and 64 Bit processor, (but the same 1GB of ram...) more crap to run with the same amount of ram as it's predecessor. I want my animations AND my TouchID, so I turn off location services to conserve ram.

These are my reasons. This is MY personal preference. Yours is different. I respect that.

No one is shoving anything down anyone's azz, no one asked you to defend your preference, especially not to this extent, and no one is making an issue of this. It seems to me that people got defensive, and started to make an issue, when the creator stated a preference.

Nothing was shoved down anyone's throat no more than, "Hey, there's this cool switcher tweak Auxo 2, you should try it because I really like it".

No offense MJ to you, it just seemed to escalate for no reason.

Maybe I'm missing some posts here (which is unlikely as I can see all posts even if I try to hide them) but I don't see anywhere that your preference was called into question MJ. Krima thanked you for bringing the cache bug to his attention. He then stated his preference. NewD stated his preference. And RKO simply asked you which Uniaw you'd still be using. Did I miss something?

Wow !!! I didn't even bother to read this page, but if you have issues with WW please take it to the WW thread. You are obviously encouraged to give Ian your opinion here, but lets not clog up this thread with this.

    Hi all,

I think in time to come, those who are stuck on var local will eventually move on or be left behind.
var lacale is outdated now, it's not reliable, remember all the times Yahoo messed with us? People complain that Yahoo isn't accurate for them in some parts of the globe and AccuWeather got complaints because it isn't accurate in other parts, Apple seems to get good results from it's feed so it seems WW is the logical choice & can easily be setup so it won't effect your battery any different from var locale. This is also the first time for me hearing about it breaking WB (I have uninstalled & re-installed it about 4 times since it came out with no issue), I can't recall this ever being discussed in the WW thread, the dev's can't fix it if they don't know about it.

There is a Cydget version in post 1, but I just stuck a .plist file in it so it would work in Cydgets, no options in the settings app, didn't even know you could do that, this for sure peaks my interest just because I want to know how to do it, might give it a go once I've completed this version.

The UniAW has for many years now had many options to configure in the Config file, I personally have never received complaints about this but every now & then it is stated by someone that "people don't know how to change the options", this is crazy in my opinion, if people are too lazy to open a file & change "true" to "false" then the UniAW is not for them, I don't believe they "can't" do it, they just can't be bothered.

Anyway, The UniAW was done for all us folks here, not for the general public, it's not & never will be on Cydia, if you want it (latest versions at least) you got to come here, & there is plenty of helpful people here.

    EDIT...

Oooo, so many posts while I was writing this, have to go read them all to find out what's going on!
