    I'm glad u r done King because u were about to suffer my wrath. For those that don't know what that would look like, it's mostly just a lot of whining, reporting posts that may or may not be thought of as offensive, generalizing individuals by referring to them as cliques or mindless groups, suggesting codes of conduct I myself do not follow, etc.

    If u want that King, keep it up buddy.

    Here is a video of how to implement a preference file. As well as the wiki. Think of it as option.plist for iWidget, but in the settings.app.

    Hi June,

    When I said "people who use var local will get left behind" I meant with the UniAW as future versions won't have it, but I thought that was obvious!

    Thanks for the links, quite interested in this.

    Put the WeatherSettings.plist and [email protected] in Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences
    Put Weather Settings in Library/GroovyLock

    Enable in GroovyLock. While in settings scroll down, and you will see Weather Settings icon.

    Must have Cycript installed! Toggles will show whats selected on the LS. Celsius is the only thing hooked to weather.

    How it works. First we create the .plist that holds the options. This is almost like the iWidgets Options.plist, just follows Apple's rules. Inside the plist we tell it to save to a certain plist. In this case com.JunesiPhone.WeatherSettings. This saved plist is in var/mobile/Library/Preferences. It is encoded and is not readable. This is Apple's compressed plist. If it wasn't compressed we could pull it with jQuery.get, but it is so this is where cycript comes in.

    In the html you will see.
    Code:
    var settings = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithContentsOfFile: @"/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.JunesiPhone.WeatherSettings.plist"];
    This is pulling the plist that is in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.JunesiPhone.WeatherSettings.plist we can now treat it like an object pulling each key we need.

    First key is settings.locale you can run alert(settings.locale); and it will alert what is set for locale. You can then pass it to a variable such as.

    Code:
    if(settings.locale){var locale = settings.locale;}
    	      else{var locale="38671";}
    Then in the end use it for anything that is needed.

    On/Off switches set 0 or 1 in the plist, but true and false can also be used as they are in the template.

    I didn't add the drop down menu, but it can be added to the plist like so.

    Code:
    	<dict>
    			<key>cell</key>
    			<string>PSGroupCell</string>
    			<key>label</key>
    			<string>Language</string>
    		</dict>
    		<dict>
    			<key>cell</key>
    			<string>PSLinkListCell</string>
    			<key>default</key>
    			<string>en</string>
    			<key>defaults</key>
    			<string>com.JunesiPhone.WeatherSettings</string>
    			<key>detail</key>
    			<string>PSListItemsController</string>
    			<key>key</key>
    			<string>languages</string>
    			<key>label</key>
    			<string>Languages</string>
    			<key>validTitles</key>
    		<array>
    			<string>English</string>
    			<string>Italian</string>
    			<string>Spanish</string>
    			<string>Deutch</string>
    			<string>French</string>
    		</array>
    			<key>validValues</key>
    		<array>
    			<string>en</string>
    			<string>it</string>
    			<string>sp</string>
    			<string>de</string>
    			<string>fr</string>
    		</array>
    		</dict>
    It will return the values en,it,sp,de,fr to the saved plist. I wrap this in a try/catch just incase something goes wrong. Usually if this alerts then the plist is not found, or you have something wrong inside. I notice when LockBuilder is ran through Convergance it will cause an error here. Sure it has to do with cycript implementation.

    I know it looks repetitive here with two else statements. The one on the variable itself is set if the button has never been touched. If it hasn't been touched then it saves nothing to the plist. We need some value to give the variable.

    The else statement at the bottom is if no plist is found. This is when the user first installs. At this time there is no plist saved. You can then alert them that settings are in the settings.app, or set defaults for the variables needed.

    Did you ever bring this to Matts attention? I'm sure he would love to know if something is broken with his tweak. Can't fix what never gets reported.

    No wasn't obvious as it was worded with "I think in time to come" although you had made the decision about uniAW. So instead of me thinking you were talking about uniAW, thought you were talking in general. Enjoy the links

    He said he would look into it months ago. I am not worried about it. I used it as an "example" of an error for why I used a try/catch nothing else.

    @June. Good info though. I will follow up with him. He's had a lot on his plate these last few months as I'm sure you can understand. Thanks.

    Oh I really didn't want to dignify this statement with a reply but it's annoying me and it's such a stupid thing to say, over the years it had developed into what it is today with soooooooooooo many changes, updates, additions, requests added & as many options in the config file to make life easier for all.
    It's a WEATHER theme, so as long as we only have one moon, one sun, rain & snow falls down not up, & clouds float across the sky then yes, it will basically stay the same, just like a car still basically has 4 wheels, a cab with seats & an engine! Sheeesh!

    ooook well lets just get bent out of shape. I think you are misunderstanding my intentions. If you think I am downing uniAW then you are totally wrong. I am just giving ideas. It's slammed packed with options. I was unaware you didn't want to add more. By the same yes I meant weather. Not how the code is constructed, or how you arranged things in the config file. I am not talking about mechanics, I am talking about options. Which I am guessing you are unaware of just like the preferences. Such a silly thing to get annoyed over.

    You could really put that sentence back in full context, and maybe see what I meant.

    "You worked on this for years, but basically is the same as its ever been. Could give you the opportunity to add more options."

    Pretty much clear as day to me. If I need to further explain to calm your nerves then let me know. Otherwise i'll go back out the door I came in. My information was put out there, do with it as you please. Peace

    Never thought I would use the "Ignore List", but I'm using it now , so go annoy someone on your own thread, & if you never return here, well that would be great, but I got the feeling you enjoy rubbing people the wrong way & you are so good at it! (BTW it means annoying people).
