Try the WW version. It is a little more robust on the conditions.

You can change the descriptions to say anything you want. Look at the translations.

Fair has such a wide range. Would have to change it all the time?

What. would you suggest are other words of description that cover the full gamut of "fair"? And AccuWeather has several more determinations like "clouds and sun " and "some sun". Maybe you could use one of the mods that uses AccuWeather.

Well, seeing as how "fair" is the condition of the sky, not the temperature, it would make sense that it would be used in a lot of occasions

Yep - exactly. Though Accuweather 'condition' codes are way more descriptive. That's why 'I' prefer it. I'm even writing in a JSON call to Accuweather to several of my other WW favorite weather widgets to get the greater palette of conditions.

Well I don't consider -18 fair. How about really cold. The suggestions can be numerous. Being its the temperature of the sky "fair" really isn't the right description either. If they are describing the sky like cloudy or mostly cloudy that I see, but even then fair doesn't fit. Why not blue sky's or clear just to name a few more suggestions.

Fair doesn't imply cold or hot, Werty.. at least not in the weather definitions I've read. "Fair" speaks to the status of the sky only.. In the coldest of cold temperatures you can have fair skies.. And in the hottest of hot temps you can have fair skies.

"Fair" has nothing at all to do with temperature.

I understand that. You of all people should see where I'm trying to go with this. You want the location to be precise, well I want the description to be more precise. I acknowledge temp and sky description are different. An Inuit tribe probably thinks -18 is fair, but I don't. When it's that temp the description should say freezing or cold. That's all I'm trying to get at. Do you see what I'm going for here? Regardless with what the sky looks like.

That could be done in js. It could be set up so that less than 32 could say freezing. Different text could be set for different temp ranges. It would be separate from the description but it would work.

Yes, I do indeed understand your desire for preciseness, Werty.. for sure!! It's just that the definition I read for fair (skies) in the dictionary has nothing to do with temperature. So I'm not bothered by a temp reading of -18 and the word "fair" - since - fair = "nearly cloudless sky". But Accuweather gives "more description" like "very cold with fair skies"..

I think you may want is a "longer" description which Accuweather provides in its feeds and Yahoo doesn't. But the term "fair", as I've said, had nothing at all to do with temperature - so "greater preciseness", for me, would require more words - and not a change in the word, "fair" (skies), to some other word. That's all I was saying.

But I think I understand what you're looking for.

Have you seen Marty McFly's lockscreen that uses the longer Accuweather descriptions for weather conditions? I think it's exactly what you're looking for.

This is what's kinda brewing as far as my "Coffee Diary" setup goes!....used the dandelion seedlings animation for the "flying" coffee beans instead! Just lined them up more uniformly...."Yay", "Nay" or "Meh"?
