I got a question for iMac owners:
Does it have a built in battery (like a laptop)? Or does it have a PSU (Power Supply Unit)? ie will it start up without the power cable?
Reason I ask is in the Philippines power cuts and power surges (up and down) are an issue, the power surges on computers with a PSU fry the motherboard pretty efficiently, yes I know you can get voltage regulators but i don't want to go that route.
    Thanks.

No battery in the iMacs. Best thing to do would probably get a UPS battery power bar. That way when the power surges or flickers the battery will kick in and compensate.

Thanks Simon, I see it can accept 100V - 240V, so might be ok, standard voltage in the Philippines is 220V and 99% of surges are negative & it's a long way from 220v to 100v, so I might just treat myself when I get home next.

Hi Grant, we were lucky, my wife reports no problems where we live apart from no electricity and small damage to our new restaurant as it is right on the waters edge , I'm currently in Brazil.
I still remember the category 10 typhoon that hit Hong Kong I think in 1997, unbelievable power from Mother nature, I remember the news showing people at the waters edge to see the big waves, one minute they are their & the next they are all gone!
On the site where I was working at that time the wind was blowing (and flipping) 20ft shipping containers like they weighed nothing. Awesome power, have you ever had the wind take your breath away and you physically can't move forward into it with you're body is at 45 tilt (your hands can almost touch the ground) - great experience but yeah... scary too!

Looks great M8, agreed, colors are great, maybe the pure black back could use some slight texture or some slight light effect? it must be nice working with big images. Who's face is that in the apple logo?

Hey Bacardi, where can I find the little "rivets" or "screws" that you use for the overlays on the side of the TV?....are they custom made?

    Hello everyone.
Well I put your theme Bacardi but it just takes a quarter of the screen.
    Otherwise it works fine
