    This time of year -- especially now back in Standard Time -- in most of the "10/40 window" (places in the world in the Northern Hemisphere between longitude 10 and 40.. which is where most of our MMI folks live - in that window) it's getting full dark by 17:30 and staying that dark until 07:30.. Most of the times that you create your Timed Walls, they're created after a jailbreak, moving from early spring to late summer - where, of course, there's a lot more daylight around the globe in the N.Hemis.. So now when you choose TimedWalls in UniAW, over top your wall pics from 17:00pm to 20:00 you see the moon - over daylight blue sky pics.

    I wonder if the TW javascript could be redone to account for when the moon starts thru the year - and trigger maybe 5-7 more photos in the Timed Wall folders that would only be called for in the 'less daylight' times of the year..

    The easiest thing for any of to do in the meantime is simply use some of the existing night pics and rename them for the earlier times when it turns dark. But since this will be a 'yearly' occurrence I wonder if 'coding' is the answer -- or just a different set of pics?

    Let me know your thoughts... I just don't have enough of the coding skills yet to do the math involved.. You and Dacal and others do.

    You say you are out about 3hrs, so for you, in the script for the timedwalls, look for this line (shown below in red)

    Code:
    // IANS 12 MINUTE SCROLLING TIMEDWALLS

    		var h = currentTime.getMinutes();
            var dummy = '-48';
            if (h <= 47) { dummy = '-36'; }
            if (h <= 35) { dummy = '-24'; }
            if (h <= 23) { dummy =  '-12'; }
            if (h <= 11) { dummy =  '-0'; }
            h = currentTime.getHours() + dummy;
    Change this line to this:

    Code:
    h = currentTime.getHours() + 3 + dummy;
    This will just advance the time for the timedwalls by 3hrs for you, you can only go up or down by one unit, ie not 2.5 for example.

    You could go one step further and put a variable in the Config.js file (or at the top of the widget.js file if you are using the TimedWalls Only theme), something like this:

    Code:
    var Grant's IQ_is = 3;
    Then the line in the timedwalls code would be like this:

    Code:
    h = currentTime.getHours() + Grant's_IQ_is + dummy;
    Of coarse the variable should have a better name.

    Like I say, it's not great as it will also advance the morning images as well as the evening ones, if you wanted to only advance the evening ones then you would need to add an "if" statement stating if currentHours was in-between such n such a time.. blah blah....

    Hope this gives you some idea on how to proceed.
    Thanks, Ian. That's a great start. And I kinda like the variable name you chose.. LOL!!! Like Obama likes the term 'Obamacare".. LOL!! But ultimately we need 'more' dark images this time a year and 'less' light ones.. So I think we at least eventually need several more dark images for the code to call for - IF - we work on a coding answer to the conundrum of daily light levels. But you've given me a start to think about the math of it and where I can effect how walls are chosen in the code. Appreciate it!

    Ian.. The + 3 number before "dummy" worked great until 21:00 hours.. At which point the walls stopped working and went to all black background and animations only.. I think it has something to do with 00:00 hours (midnight).. Any other thoughts for a workaround?

    Sorry King, I put this line of code in the updateClock function on previous post which of coarse advanced the time on the clocks too

    Here is the correct one:

    Hi Grant,

    Yes, my last code is useless
    Put everything back to standard then add this line (in red) to my timedWalls code: (again, you could replace the "+3" with a variable like I said in my previous post (which I have now deleted)

    Now it should work past midnight without any issue... I hope.

    Code:
    var h = currentTime.getMinutes();
            var dummy = '-48';
            if (h <= 47) { dummy = '-36'; }
            if (h <= 35) { dummy = '-24'; }
            if (h <= 23) { dummy =  '-12'; }
            if (h <= 11) { dummy =  '-0'; }
    	currentTime.setHours(currentTime.getHours()+3); // Used to advance or regress time
            h = currentTime.getHours() + dummy;

    Hey peeps...after a couple of hundred reloads I think I'm finished playing with this UniAW LS...
    Just a few quick details: I got rid of the timed walls because they didnt really work with the mod, and also disabled some things such as the circle rain, wiper, frost animation because they looked kinda silly seen through a window with no glass ..but while i deleted the timed walls to shrink the mod size, I kept the images for the wiper etc and coded them to fit the window properly in case people wanted to use them( just gotta set them to true in the config.js).

    As always, massive thanks to Ian and Dacal for all the hard work they put in to give us UniAW to play with and thank you Krima for taking it for a test drive for me

    Anyway, here's a link and a few screenies..if there's any issues let me know..

    So freaking cool, nateD!......This is what a "Real" mod looks like, Lol!....I really, really appreciate it.

    Edit post....
    I experience just a little bit of jitteriness on iph.5 but I'm good, bro....This is probably the result of adding the second "back" weather walls, same thing happened when EricB was helping me on a mod that used jpegifier on the back of animations....

    It's so awesome!, it's a non-issue....gonna rock this one for a long minute!

    Cheers guys to be honest the idea actually came from a photo I stumbled across on deviantART about a month ago..I loved it the second I saw it and thought it'd make an awesome wallpaper, and then "animated weather in the window" popped into my head, but the dimensions were just not gonna work on an iphone... So i had no choice but to try and create something that might work with the iPhone dimensions

    I'll post a smaller size of the pic to this post and also a link to the full res pic which is 3888x2592px in case anyone else likes the pic. Would make an awesome desktop mod I reckon
