Shouldnt the top of the box sit below the status bar?

How does it look with this overlay keeping the sunrise and sunset at the top, even tho the top of the weatherbox is removed?

    Hey Ian
Was messing with webkit filters for clouds when raining or at night.
    Adding

    Code:
    -webkit-filter: brightness(-30%) grayscale(100%);
Works and looks good but notice lag on the lock.
I think if making the clouds darker for certain conditions they should be made in PS.
    Will work better performance wise.

Personally I think the opacity of the clouds over a good weather wall for that condition shows well enough. Just thought I'd put this out in case you are going to add that.

Oo.. Thanks, D.. That piece of info gives a budding coder impetus to try and code it himself..
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

I guess you overlooked this part

"Works and looks good but notice lag on the lock.

It will cause lag. If it lags on my 5, it's even worse on a 4/4S
Using a webkit filter to do this in my opinion is not the way to go.

If your going to mess around to see the effects have fun with it. I just don't think utilizing it for a general release is a good idea.

If you want to play with more webkit filters here's a good start with a bunch of different ones

I've learned a lot about css just with my current project, everything aside from the daisy and the weather icon is pure code, runs nice and quick, however he is correct the filters are finicky, especially when combine with animations. The can lag a lot and with only a minor change.

    Edit* oops forgot the image

    Looks good

And yeah the filters are fun to work with but do cause problems
The blur is the heaviest but all cause a bit of lag themselves. Combined with animation it gets worse.
Even without animations there is a noticeable difference.
In the lock I posted for Ezra I originally had one weather image folder, was blurring just one BG image and there was lag. Even forcing hardware acceleration on it. I instead blurred all the images in PS and added as a folder and removed the webkit blur. Very noticeable difference.

I understood your post very clearly and read every word. You overlooked my stated purpose that I'm using it 'to learn'. Never said I would release, bro. You projected that ON to my words..

Thanks for the link - very helpful!

And my other challenge would be.. how come Marty's gradient he added for sunrise and sunset orange works in UniAW without lag? Couldn't the dark grey be added in the same way?
