V6 of ultimate pano walls. Cropped walls and only apply blur to the walls. Blur is a lot better on i5. Need input for how it is now on 4/4S.
I did the i4 side blind so let me know if anything else there is a little off.

    Download

A container does blur all the contents behind it. It just needs to be above any containers both in the z-index and the html

The next one I do I will snap some screen shots along the way and post some kind of tutorial, but every image is not the same so techniques differ!

The main thing I look for in images I download is some contrast between land and sky, makes it easier to separate the two.
I would indeed imagine it to be tricky.. Hey - your tutorial is amazing as I've already said.. But with it being a 'silent', video only, tutorial - It makes it hard to differentiate your mouse clicking actions.
Can I assume with all the tools you're using - that after you choose the tool - it's a single clik mouse or click + drag action? Are there any 'shift+click' actions you're using? The Magic wand tool - is escaping me. I can ciik in the middle of the grass for it to find all the orange yellow aspects of the photo. But then when 'you' CLIK on the 'green' evergreen trees in your tutorial.. that action I can't reproduce on my end. What is the mouse click action to 'ADD' more territory to the Magic Wand tool?

This would be a way to get things much less 'sluggish' I would think.. Thanks for your insights!

A container doesn't blur things behind it. Otherwise I could have just blurred the overlay container which has the weatherinfobg in it (and I did try this). A container will blur everything INSIDE it though I would think. Maybe I can put everything I want blurred inside a container. Then I would have containers within other containers though, not sure how that will work but will give it a try.

    Hi Grant,

Since Iv'e had PS from as far back as I can remember, I have never had to use anything else, Iv'e never tried Gimp, sorry.

I can say this, If you are thinking of getting Photoshop then I would advise you stick with CS4 (maybe CS5 but I skipped this version so can't confirm), CS6 is very new and has a few annoying bugs.

I used the blur container in the same way ian instructed in his mini mask tutorial, put it above animations and scrolling walls in html and zindex and it blurred no lag. However the blur was constant and not triggered by a touch event. Hope that helps

Got it going And the blur comes up super fast too. Behind, inside, who cares lol. Your last post triggered me thinking about a container in another container (and yes, it is similar to Ian's mask explanation). Gonna post a new version with this in a few, let me know how it does on your i4/S.
    Thanks man

. Now - how does it feel for "YOU" to not be on an "inner circle" for once, Brian..? ... Let's just say I'm about to get 'very creative' and start my journey to "gold-ness"..

This is me tonight... Rockin' Ferlop's most recent SB widget - but running as Widget.html with a transparent Static Image and running MJ's Panoramic walls as Wallpaper.html in the background..
