But it is going to be a Native solution, as it has always made the most sense!
Native will only be viable if it auto updates. If not - it's not a real solution.

Is the Accuweather solution for weather description too? Or only forecast? And is it working well in US? Some confusing reports here.
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

Hey guys, what became of that rain gif animation that some of you were working on? The last I heard, Simon was going to be removing some frames to improve it- but I never did quite get how to integrate it. Anybody feel like putting up with me long enough to explain/post it?

Native weather is updating... Coders are working behind the scenes to force the plst update.

And yes. The accuweather version is complete and accurate. It's a full accuweather pull. (No yahoo)

I just updated the "Fix any widget yourself" post above (UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5) as I received lots of PM's about peoples Yahoo URL call line looking different. Thanks to those who pointed it out to me. Fix for those versions has been added to the post as well. Hope that helps.

    Don't be negative nancy
King and I (few others) have a native widget running now that auto updates info for current city.
Few things to work out by the dev we have building the tweak but bottom line is it works.

We will see where it goes but it's definitely viable.

Keep in mind too that this is not being done to push other options out. This something i wanted to see since Suby used scripts to grab the libweather info. i wanted to bypass that completely and use the weather app.

This current tweak we are testing has a lot of potential
The dev is an awesome guy and is doing this simply because we asked as well which is very cool.

Thats of course what I meant. .. Unless the 'user' sees the "same level of service' as the MyLocation app with city to city auto updates - it will be considered a step backwards.

Fair enough, D! I'll try to keep an open mind. But once you've had city to city auto updating with GPS anything less will be considered substandard. But the relationship you have with that dev sounds very cool. My only plea is that you not stop short of auto city updating too..

And the other worry is --> We all know Apple will change the way Native weather works in iOS7. We could be right back to square 1 after every iOS update if we rely on Native's plist.. Don't you think? Am I missing something?

ND trust they are working behind the scene for all that you long for! Lol. ...Seriously they will do their best.
Plus as mentioned there is a complete accuweather version in case yahoo pulls another stunt.

@Ian can't wait for 6.3 and the direction you take it. I've always been a big fan! To see your touches on 6.21 and the organization of the code in the css make me happy! (Is that odd?) It helps us newbies out a ton! Thanks for everything you do for us my friend!

Sorry, tired and need a break. But accuweather version works very well (better) for US users.

City not updating is not what we want. Stating the obvious I think.
It's been the original request along with pulling the info for it so that is what is being worked in.

You're not even taking into account that Location Services from Apple could change in another iOS revision never mind the weather app. If that happens, your city to city on the fly is gone.
Springboard gets changed, iWidgets don't work. All the same discussion and all a matter of which way you look at the glass half full/empty.
But it's all pointless anyway because we'd all be waiting on a new jailbreak to even see if anything works anymore on iOS7

Once iOS 7 comes out, there may not BE a jail break

Can any programming guru help me to get these widgets working? I've been trying Marty's fix, but I can't seem to get these to work. I know these aren't UniAW widgets, but since you all got the forecast working again, maybe you could help me out?

Maxpain's boss widgets (the code seems to be very different from the example that MJ posted):

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mtje7frlmm...MPSB.theme.zip

Dacal's boss widget (I tried the edit in a separate file, but my phone keeps returning "Internet ?!" on the LS):

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Did you see the revised "do it yourself" post explaining version 2 of the code fix?

Yes I did. I don't think it quite matches either. I tried both fixes with the editing XML_request.open, etc, and couldn't get either to work. Sorry, I'm an extreme noob when it comes to modding...

Edit: I'm assuming version 2 is one to add to the forecastrss line and the other is to change the XML_Request.open line
