I will have a look at it but animated gifs... mm I already got 2 bird ones, and I'm not really a fan of animated gifs, HTML5 animations are far more resourceful, might just leave that one out and just let you guys mod your own, I'll take a look though.

Here are copies of the UniAW 6.2 iWidget Versions with a 1 Day Forecast "fix"

These are full Download versions, so delete your previous iWidget versions and replace it with one of these:

    Standard Version: UniAW6.2_iW V2.zip

Touch capable 1 Day Forecast Version: UniAW6.21_iW_Touch_Forecast V2.zip

    Cheers

Ya, not too sure you should include it. Not only because it is another gif but it would have to be a full screen size one. iPhone 5 can handle it but the 4 and 4S could get some serious lag from it running with everything else. Plus it's not the cleanest looking animation. Granted it does look cool but one thing I love about UNIAW is the animations are all very crisp and clean.

Interesting that just the opposite is the problem with Accuweather now. They got it working great for outside of US.. And not working well at all IN US.

But Ssemmel, I'm curious.. What do you have running behind the animation? When you rename UniAW to Wallpaper.html it doesn't have a background of its own unless you turn on FullWeatherWalls or DayNight walls. You said you had those turned off AND no longer are using JPEGifier which would get you a background too. So I'm curious. What do you see behind the animation on your Springboard "as" a Wallpaper now?

So it's not an accuracy or location finding problem with Accuweather? Just a code thing? I thought Dacal's been ready to abandon Accuweather because of a US accuracy feed issue.??

This thread is way too massive for me to jump in, holy hell - but to cut to the chase my weather widget db_aniweathyer wont work now because of a recent update to how this widget gathers weather info??

Is there a way to make this use the accu weather source everyone has been talking about? U.s. location too?

This thing is too massive and requires so much prior knowledge.. I have kings mylocation app all set up accurately

I downloaded one recently again to see and it doesn't update. You need to respring.
With great respect to Mone's artistry which I love - I don't think she's telling you "the whole story". Blue also tried to tell me again and again that NativeWeather updated automatically for him every time. I think as paid theme creators imagine what would happen if they admitted to their customer base that they'd included something 'faulty'. I understand their 'backing' NativeWeather' since it 'generally' works. But I assure you, no matter what they say - Native Weather does not update automatically on "any" iPhone. Period... Never did… Never will…

That is something I always disliked about Yahoo, you had to get a woeid for your location and then the weather for that woeid. I much prefer the solution to just use one url with latitude and longitude to get the weather, then it really does not matter where you are. The location name is done with a separate Google Maps url as so far nothing beats this, just my personal opinion.
That's why I used Weather Underground and WorldWeatherOnline as they just need the latitude and longitude in the request url. Sadly WorldWeatherOnline did not seem to work too well for you if I remember correctly. Also both services need an free API key.
A long while back I tried accuweather, but it was terrible outside the US, it only had predefined locations in the UK and the closest was 50 miles away, obviously that has changed. If accuweather would accept GPS coordinates that would be even better, personally I don't like to to move from New York to Washington via Tokyo if I can move directly, if you know what I mean. Sometimes it is necessary to choose a longer way to get around a problem.
    Hi rasputin,

Your method is a lot better for a personnal use. My goal is to make something that can work for everyone, without libweather or API key. For now, it works great for US people.

I have explained to Ian yesterday :

Step 1) I use Yahoo for geolocalization (as before) and get the city, postal, countrycode and state.
Step 2) If countrycode is US, i can use the postal code directly with accuweather !!!! => Step 4.
Step 3) If not US, i must call the accuweather URL to get all the cities with the same name (as step 1) and the same country code, then i create one array. After, i use a loop, to find something similar to the state i have got in step 1 (it's a quick resume, it's the most difficult part...).
Step 4) I call the latest URL to have the weather conditions.

The step 3 is the one that can cause problems : for exemple, Yahoo doesn't always report the state... So i try with the county,... If no result, i try with the country (less accurate),... On the other side, the "state" on Accuweather is not always a real state... Sometimes, it's the country or the county ...

Another problem i have solved now for UK users : Yahoo gives "GB" as country code (Great Britain), Accu gives "UK"...

I think the code is pretty good now, to cover 99% of the situations, but need to test again...

I have to agree here. I have only been able to get it to update with a respring or a reboot. The libweather cached plist file is not updating like it used too. Also libweather has not been updated since 3/8/2012! I have sent David Ashman an email about it, but I'm not expecting much from him unfortunately.

Native Weather "never" updated automatically for me since I arrived here in Jan2012. Are you saying you remember a time when it did?

Thank you for your work. One question. When I activate this widget, the background takes over and covers all my icons on my home screen. They are still there cause if u touch the screen whatever app is below the background opens but you can't actually see any of the icons.
