Hey Ferlop, quick question, is there any way to use your full screen weather widget in the basalt dandelion theme with another theme? I prefer the icons and keypad on another theme but I really like the way you've implemented the full screen weather and your background and animations. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the great work regardless.

Ahh, ok thanks....and "I refer them to King" is right....he's helped me alot indirectly, maybe I didn't ask the questions, but his responses to other people's queries have taught me also....code is not my strong suit, I mostly have a better eye for putting images together, learning anyway!!

Ian I agree with you totally I don't like the cookie ether cause I want to know when I'm off line, and it does make things more confusing to me and your right the UniAW is and always was animated widget that's what it needs to be I like all the stuff you added but it was getting a little much I think but that's just me.... Like you said it's only a widget people need to go out and do stuff most people stay on the forum all day lol

I know I wasn't expecting any kind of update for at least a month. Before you left home you announced there would be no updates coming out of China as the internet is too slow there.

Ian, shut it down and take a Break...don't even post till after Sunday.

Relax and we'll see ya when we see ya...but at least not for a couple days.
No I'm not stressed M8, just trying to make a rational decision. If we go the route as I posted the weather ill update as normal, only the forecast wouldn't. But if the native weather forecast is used as a separate widget, I'm wondering why we can't just set a reload widget function? (for the forecast only)

    Gotta run.

Ah.. I'm only ever on the mobile MMI app and the rest of the 'else' statement Day 2-4 comment out marks in Dacal's original fix post #4738 - were hidden behind the MORE button which I missed. I looked so hard.. then got frustrated. Now I see the other comment marks - but only after you hit that "more" button in the app will you see it. Ugh. Thanks Ian.

Yes, absolutely!....if you're on iphone 5 it should work great...just omit the "Text Icons Bau" theme from Winterboard and the icons from the theme of your choice should appear...I'm assuming you want to keep the weather walls, but yes it should work....the keypad you want depends on the theme you choose to use in winterboard[elite6, Topaz, auros]

My idea to Dacal was lets just pull forecast from accuweather "ONLY" and all weather info pull from yahoo! he's got it only pulling city state and county names from yahoo now and accuweather pulling all the weather info.. I think this may work and be way better

    None taken, Ian.
Just made me realize again that there are more graphical modders on MMi then code modders.
It is not ideal to rely on just one person when it comes to code management, but it seems that almost all themes call for Dacal to solve code problems. Don't get me wrong, I have the upmost respect for Dacal's skills and work, but I think just too much depends on him.
Imagine Dacal get's an Android tomorrow and loves it, says "Bye Bye" to iOS modding.

Not sure if this is slightly facetious, but June has already posted an alternate which even allows 10 day forecast. Why not just use his method? Seems very similar to the old yahoo one....

No problem Ian . I have spent too much time on it, agree.

So we have now the choice, and it's good : use accuweather (almost good for everyone, but i need to work again on it), keep Yahoo and used native weather for forecast (sincerelly, maybe the best solution : just need of libweather library and minor changes in the code).

I can also look how to use the Yahoo API key and give the choice to users if they have one...

For the cookie, i personnaly love it, because i often loose my data connexion in the country i live. In fact, it's simple : if you don't be in "Offline" mode (in 6.3 beta), your weather informations are up to date. There is also an option in Config.js to always try to update the widget when lock/unlock.

I can also add an option to remove the cookie when loading, so the way it works will be the same as 6.2.

I think you're right on what it's better for now. I must do a small break for one day or two, uniAW is yours, your choice M8 .

Who here can ever remember looking at the forecast and later in the day seeing that the forecast has changed? Not me.
So lets be realistic, we don't need the forecast updating every 15 minutes.. If you do need this. then I would say look in the notification center.

The UniAW is primarily an Animated Weather widget.
I feel (so sorry Dacal) the input of the json cookie is complicating the code too much, I don't like it when I can't understand my own widget code LOL.. then I/we have to rely on Dacal for any changes made.

I would like to return the code to version 6.21 (the latest one without the cookie) then add all the extra goodies (not the cookie) from 6.3 to this code (which I can easily do, it just takes a bit of time). This way at least I can understand my own widget! For offline mode you can chose from static image or demo mode, if that's not good enough for you.. tough luck.

Yes this means going back to Yahoo, but as the old saying goes, you can't please all of the people all of the time, and at least Yahoo works worldwide.

I see little point in adding, adding, adding more confusing code so it gets to the point only one man understands it, (something like Rasp's code (no offense intended M8 but it's fact) it's too much to ask from one man, and now I think even Dacal is getting confused and spending way too much time on this.

Also, I would completely remove all code for weather forecast from the widget and use native weather if that is the only choice at present, a switch to show forecast or not would just load the separate forecast code (not built into the UniAW.js).

Maybe at some later date we can play with other options but at present we need to make a decision and not let Dacal spend days & days trying different things and ending up with a very complicated widget.

My vote: Keep it simple, remove the forecast and cookie, go back to 6.21 and add native weather forecast as a separate add-on.

I'm gonna wait and see Dacal's response before I do anything and sincerely hope I haven't offended him an any way.

When we are all relaxed with nothing to do, lets look for alternative sources that work.

PS, don't waist your time quoting this and telling me how much you hate Yahoo, lets be realistic about this.
I thought you were taking a break from all of this, lol.

Ian..whatever needs to be done I for one, support despite hating Yahoo .
