    It's not simple, Dalvar. You have to go into the .css file and look for things like #city and #desc and #temp and change all the top: __px numbers to a higher number and then recheck position. Then in the .html file you need to find the call for the 'overlay' image and move it down (higher top number) too. It'll be a good chance for you to start learning how to mod for yourself. We all had to start somewhere. Make this your first lesson. You can do it.

    And hey.. Thanks for my '3000th' "thank you". .

    Menard - that will move EVERYTHING on the whole page down. He only wants the weather info to move.

    There are 2 places that you have to edit in the js file, you only did one of them.

    Sent this to Dacal earlier. He is taking a tiny break.
    Not sure how useable it will be but it's pulling a 4 day from the libweather tweak plist
    Definitely was easier than using accuweather as it already has your current location so there's no need to try and work another weather service into the location.js and try and get it to use geo location along with yahoo.
    Very messy what I sent him but only a basic gps/woeid script. Not uniaw as trying to add that to the beta 6.3 gave me a headache. Dacal can fix that up I'm sure. Regardless definitely a potential workaround.
    Thanks to SubyWrex originally for his creative work on the plist

    Default My thoughts:

    Oh God help me for writing this but I got to.

    I don't know how to say this without hurting Dacal and that is the last thing I want to do.

    Who here can ever remember looking at the forecast and later in the day seeing that the forecast has changed? Not me.
    So lets be realistic, we don't need the forecast updating every 15 minutes.. If you do need this. then I would say look in the notification center.

    The UniAW is primarily an Animated Weather widget.
    I feel (so sorry Dacal) the input of the json cookie is complicating the code too much, I don't like it when I can't understand my own widget code LOL.. then I/we have to rely on Dacal for any changes made.

    I would like to return the code to version 6.21 (the latest one without the cookie) then add all the extra goodies (not the cookie) from 6.3 to this code (which I can easily do, it just takes a bit of time). This way at least I can understand my own widget! For offline mode you can chose from static image or demo mode, if that's not good enough for you.. tough luck.

    Yes this means going back to Yahoo, but as the old saying goes, you can't please all of the people all of the time, and at least Yahoo works worldwide.

    I see little point in adding, adding, adding more confusing code so it gets to the point only one man understands it, (something like Rasp's code (no offense intended M8 but it's fact) it's too much to ask from one man, and now I think even Dacal is getting confused and spending way too much time on this.

    Also, I would completely remove all code for weather forecast from the widget and use native weather if that is the only choice at present, a switch to show forecast or not would just load the separate forecast code (not built into the UniAW.js).

    Maybe at some later date we can play with other options but at present we need to make a decision and not let Dacal spend days & days trying different things and ending up with a very complicated widget.

    My vote: Keep it simple, remove the forecast and cookie, go back to 6.21 and add native weather forecast as a separate add-on.

    I'm gonna wait and see Dacal's response before I do anything and sincerely hope I haven't offended him an any way.

    When we are all relaxed with nothing to do, lets look for alternative sources that work.

    PS, don't waist your time quoting this and telling me how much you hate Yahoo, lets be realistic about this.

    Hey Grant, or anyone with any response....I'm just wondering, here...I don't care for my own number of thanks, but why do you have 3000 thanks and don't have "gold" and others have less than you and have "gold?"....I've read a few threads the past year and a half and the way to rack up thanks is to visit and post on a "busy" thread....Obviously, Elite6 thread comes to mind....Yes the main members there are well deserving of their thanks but just about anyone can rack up theirs....it's seems meaningless to me, so I opted to not post so much....occasionally I like to show off my screen, but everyone starts screaming "share, please share!!" when it's the same mod just nobody wants to put the effort to moves things around themselves, I try to share with people who really want to use a mod longer than 20min, Lol.....My first rant!! feels liberating

    And my favorite people who go out of their way to help, in no particular order: Ian, KOH, Durben, Dacal, Mamajaay, Drifter, erayser, EricB, Lucy's
    OMG, I cant believe I forgot Mone

    Gold colour isn't determined on number of thanks. People get easily recommended by others who were also easily recommended etc etc.

    I didnt go gold until over 5000 thanks was abit harder to get back then lol

    Posts also need to be helpful useful etc not just posts full of rambling and what not

    I know I have been the most vocally against Yahoo - mostly because they're keep messing us up - time and again. Let's set aside for the moment that they've admitted to me in correspondence that they stay more focussed on the accuracy of major cities than suburbs - but then every other month they change their feeds. What next? Only 20 temperature calls a day without an API? The more I've read these past 48 hours - the more I'm convinced we will all need to be getting ourselves an API key (free) and widgets will need to be build where we enter our API.

    But your main point there, Ian, I can't push back against. You DO need to be able to understand your own widget and thereby be able to answer questions of those that use UniAW and have it at the heart of their modded widgets. So although I'm frustrated the 'easiest/best' way for the masses is to stay with Yahoo I support your rationale, bro!.. Native Weather is a double stab through my heart - since it never updates properly. Maybe Durben has found a way to get around that - but I'm 'glass half empty' on that issue. Blue tried in theme after theme of his to get Native Weather to update properly and for many of us - it wouldn't update without a respring or opening the Native iPhone Weather app. So I'm bummed - but again - support your decision and its rationale.

    ------
    For those who may had NOT been able to get the proper code commented out in UniAW 6.21_WB and LS when this issue first started with broken widgets after Yahoo changed their feed - what was NOT being explained well by well-meaning folks here - was that there were a total of THREE places you needed to comment out Days 2-4 in the UniAW6.js file - NOT just '2' places as was being originally explained. They were forgetting to tell us about an additionaly spot after one of the 'else' statements where Days 2-4 need to be commented out too. SO - the first place to look for is this - and where you need to add the /* */ in red is here:

    Code:
    if (FullScreen_WW === true) { document.getElementById("fullScreenWeatherWalls").src="Images/fullScreenWeatherWalls/" + where + "_" + Conditions[obj.icon] +".jpg"; }

    	    if (Reverse_Hi_Lo == true) {
    		document.getElementById("Day1").innerHTML=ForecastDayNames(obj.Day1).substring(0,3);
    		document.getElementById("Day1Icon").src="Icon Sets/"+iconSet+"/"+obj.Day1Code+".png";
    		document.getElementById("Day1HiLo").innerHTML=obj.Day1Hi+ "/ "+obj.Day1Lo+ "";
    		/* document.getElementById("Day2").innerHTML=ForecastDayNames(obj.Day2).substring(0,3);

    Then the last place (3rd set of comment codes) needs to be added here a little later than the one above - all near the end of the .js file:

    Code:
    if (obj.icon == 3200) obj.icon = 48;

    	    obj.Day1 = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[1].getAttribute("day");
    		obj.Day1Hi = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[1].getAttribute("high");
    		obj.Day1Lo = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[1].getAttribute("low");
    		obj.Day1Code = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[1].getAttribute("code");

    	    /* obj.Day2 = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[2].getAttribute("day");
    		obj.Day2Hi = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[2].getAttribute("high");
    		obj.Day2Lo = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[2].getAttribute("low");
    		obj.Day2Code = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[2].getAttribute("code");

    		obj.Day3 = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[3].getAttribute("day");
    		obj.Day3Hi = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[3].getAttribute("high");
    		obj.Day3Lo = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[3].getAttribute("low");
    		obj.Day3Code = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[3].getAttribute("code");

    		obj.Day4 = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[4].getAttribute("day");
    		obj.Day4Hi = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[4].getAttribute("high");
    		obj.Day4Lo = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[4].getAttribute("low");
    		obj.Day4Code = request.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("forecast")[4].getAttribute("code");*/

    		callback (obj);
    		} else {
    		callback ({error:true});
    		}

    @Ian,

    Your working and stressing to much over this.

    Shut it down, walk away from it for at least a couple of days. It will still be there and everyone will still be here in a couple of days, a week, however long....Take a Break!!!

    I know I wasn't expecting any kind of update for at least a month. Before you left home you announced there would be no updates coming out of China as the internet is too slow there.

    Ian, shut it down and take a Break...don't even post till after Sunday.

    Relax and we'll see ya when we see ya...but at least not for a couple days.

    No.. Excellent point, Ferlop. GOLD status here is not at all about THANKS count. As you rightly point out - there are some downright 'takers only' here - that rack up hundreds of Thanks just hangin' out in the popular threads with the 'young kids' who use the Thanks button like a LIKE button in Facebook. They don't understand what the Thanks button is really for. BUT - even if we understand the right use of the Thanks button - thank goodness the Owners/Admin and Moderators of MMI don't dole out the Green or Gold status based on thanks count. As Simon explained to me - 2-3 current Gold members have to RECOMMEND a person for Gold STATUS as being a helpful Technician or great Modder. Only then can a person achieve Gold status. I don't hang out much in 'popular threads' and feel I've earned a bunch of my thanks the 'way that has worth' - for helpful information. But I am not a competent modder yet - nor do I possess enough consistently correct knowledge to warrant Gold Status. One day maybe - and it will be a high honor because it will come from at least two of the amazing people you and I both pointed out in our 'credits lists' of giants here at MMI. x

    So thanks for the vote of confidence - but I'm no gold-ey yet. LOL!! A 'greenie' -- well maybe soon.. Don't know.. doesn't matter. I'm learning a lot - and if I can help I do. If I can't - I refer them to King..

    Occasionally I like to comment on 'milestones' of thanks count - more because I'm a numbers guy.. And just like to note the milestones. Maybe I shouldn't as it could seem self-serving.... and that's not 'Elite'.... Ohh - wait -- that's not this thread.. LOL!!
