For clear night the image should be named "night_moon.jpg" (note there should be no "day_moon")

For clear day (sunny from Yahoo) the image should be named "day_sun.jpg" (note there should be no "night_sun")

Just look at any of the un-modded UniAW files for reference, in the UniAW6.js file the conditions list should be exactly like this:

He's not crazy dude. I had it showing "clear" during the day the other day for me too. Not "sunny", "CLEAR". I know it's not coded, but that's what Yahoo was reporting, or at least that's what UNIAW was showing, along with a black screen (due to no corresponding wallpaper).

See? It only seemed to do it when I had the neighbourhood enabled for GPS.

    I'll look into it M8.

Ah, ok, it might be because there is no sun_night or moon day, I will redo it to use clear day/night.

The larger sun/moon is just a .png change

Most of these questions you guys are asking about the weather updating correctly are not Uniaw issues, they are Yahoo weather updating issues....about the only thing that can be changed in Uniaw for correct weather walls is to put in the code to change walls according to Sunset/Sunrise times....there is no "day clear" condition in yahoo.....the reason you are seeing "clear" on "day" is because its left over from "night clear" yahoo has not refreshed into "sunrise" time yet from "night_clear"....So I repeat, if Ian will configure it for Sunset/Sunrise times, weather wall conditions will be more accurate....the only weather description that changes between day and night is the "sunny/clear" description....so at sunrise time, have the "day clear" condition pull the "day sunny" jpeg...all others can just pull the "day" or "night" version.....

Thank you Ian for creating Uniaw....thanks to Dacal, Mone, and theme by Barsoverbeats

I tend to agree with ferlop BUT, if that is the case, the night wall should continue to show until yahoo sends the "day" code. At least that's what happens to me (daily). Have a look, this is my phone display this morning:

    UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5-photo.png

You can see that sunrise was an hour earlier, yet I still have a 'night time' background. So I of course checked Yahoo to make sure there is nothing wrong with the phone:

    UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5-new-1.png

You can see the Yahoo code is #33 which is "fair (night)". That's why I still have the night background. My phone has since switched to "day" of course but yahoo certainly does not send the "day" codes right at sunrise.

    Oh well.....

If you are using Max's mod or my mod, and you have "sun_moon_arc" set to FALSE, you will see the bigger sun, and yes, it is just an alternate PNG image....

    UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5-new-1.png

We can thank Max for the "buff'd sun"

Yahoo sucks. Always has - always will. But our great modders just don't want to take on the project of using a better weather reporting service. .. I know it's not simple. Nothing 'worth it' ever is. You guys are awesome, of course - and I don't know all that's involved. But I just wish we could get a better service.

Mine are actually purely png alternates as the standard sun/moon weren't the correct size for me personally

Hey Tia, would you mind sharing your alternate sun/moon PNG's for everyone? Sounds like a lot of people are looking for them to be larger.

Haha - everyone is waiting for it. It's another 'Max Mod'. He know's people are looking for it. I'm sure he will share it as soon as he's done. I think he was just finishing up some work on the WeatherWalls if I remember reading correctly.

Ok, the "Reverse Geocoding" seems to work very well. I put in my lat-long from myLocation.txt file and it came back with very accurate info. So accurate, it gave me my house number! It gives complete address info, as well as the correct woeid. At least this is what I got from my test. I also found this neat little testing page!
    Test it here:
    YQL Console
Paste the query below into the "YOUR YQL STATEMENT" box, but replace the coordinates with your own.
    select * from geo.placefinder where text="37.416275,-122.025092" and gflags="R"
Hey King, I was looking at this a little more. It's INSANE that it actually gives you the street address of your location instead of just coordinates, city or neighbourhood! Dude....how do we incorporate this into UniAW? Is it even possible?

I really am enjoying this Max SB3 mod with Marty's random weather walls mod. I moved it to springboard and am collaborating with Marty on some further cool upgrades to this concept. More to come!!

If you want this mod - it's just MartyMcFly's mod of Max's UniAW6.1-SB3 LS a few pages back - simply having the HTML doc renamed to Wallpaper.html. Marty's only written it for iPh4 - but it works on ip5 just fine.

Hey gang, also remember that Marty updated his links to get rid of the quote marks ( " " ) around the wind speed variable in the config.js which was causing some weirdness. I had wind animation happening all the time and just discovered that I still had the original.. Your variable needs to look like:

var wind speed = 30 as opposed to ="30".

    Just a reminder,
