Its not something "global" I need done. It's an icon by icon issue. 10 of the custom icons I use are already masked by the creator in PS; rendering them unusable in Bundles/Folders method without shrinkage and the black border - unless they change it for me. I was trying to 'self-serve'. Basically you're telling me - its a no-go. Thx anyway.. :/
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

Shrinkage + black border = double masked

Yes. Thanks, King. But it's still the same conundrum I was describing to Krima: icon makers only making "pre-masked" [meaning: already-masked] icons for us; usable then only in the Icon Folder method.

I'm confused. Wouldn't pre-mask mean icons created that haven't been masked, i.e before masking. This would mean that the icon folder method would not mask them causing them to have black borders. R u referring to icons that have already been masked or icons that haven't been masked?

Well yes and no.. In English 'pre-' can mean 'already' or 'not yet'. It's one of the worst ambiguous prefixes in English for that reason.

I should more clearly - say "already masked". The conundrum these days - is that most custom icon makers only provide us with "already-masked" icons. So you're constrained to using the Icon Folders method to prevent shinkage which would result if you used the Bundles/Folder method. Am I communicating that more clearly now?

Thanks for the English lesson. I was always under the impression it meant "a prefix occurring originally in loanwords from Latin, where it meant “before” ( preclude; prevent ); applied freely as a prefix, with the meanings “prior to,” “in advance of,” “early,” “beforehand,” “before,” “in front of,” and with other figurative meanings ( preschool; prewar; prepay; preoral; prefrontal )

Damn English dictionaries fooled me again. Well never again. I'm just glad I'm now pre-educated.

Pre-filled means 'already filled' - it was done before - but it carries the semantic 'already done'. It's a terrible ambiguity. Look in the Oxford English Dictionary.. It gives a good history of how the ambiguity arose. But now we're boring people.

If u want a custom icon u still need photoshop. All stock apps and Cydia apps will not automask.

I mainly use this app to create the correct bundle folder and icon name. It has never been wrong like app info is sometimes.

Am I answering your question or have I misunderstood it?

So here's what I mean. You see the green icon. That's theme icon maker. I ran the app to use the auros automask that gets applied for App Store apps. It's using the icon image for that app. So I then find an icon or make one to fit the dark style I'm rocking right now and just drop it in the bundle that was created by the app. And bam, it's done. No searching through ifile for the info.plist or creating a folder.
    What SB is that?

Makes sense. I prefer the Kings language anyway. I didn't mean to be all mouth and trousers. Can I get a shout out from my UK friends for that.

It's IO_SB_Spin II from the IO theme by D1LL1NG3R. I love it.

Maybe tonight... Most likely tomorrow. Just did a quick format on the iPhone 4/4s version. If I'm going to share, might as well share it to everyone to enjoy.

Screen print is in iFile since I don't have a iPhone 4 handy. My kids won't let me touch there iPhone 4's.

Again, thanks to the original creators.

Erayser - may I also get, at your convenience a more 'purple hue' to the background of your last SB widget with the 4xforecast at top? I use the Light Icons and love the blue. But I'd also like to have a more 'purple hued' background than the blue. Not dark. But several more shades levels of red than your current medium blue one. No pressure - if you have other projects that interest you more. But if you get bored.. LOL!!

    TIA,
    Grant

FYI, Krima, if you were to want to get rid of the icon framework you'd have to have something in it's place. A solid white image for the mask would prob do the trick if EVERY icon was "pre-masked".

Thanks man. I personally Never cared to get rid of the framework. NewDestiny was asking something about pre-masked (already masked) icons and I suggested something that I never tried to do before that might work. But your probably right. The stock iOS mask would have to be replaced with something. Might be easier to just learn photoshop. Lol.
