When you resize something, hold the "shift" button and drag a corner. It will resize without messing with the shape. (not that this one is resized incorrectly, looks ok to me).


I see that issue with several icons here from different people. Just thought I'd point out a fix for this, so the icons don't look squished .

most of the times I use SHIFT but sometimes I use Ctrl or Alt, it depends on image how u do the editing. SHIFT is a good option.

Thanks, but had plenty of practice years ago when I was writing firmwares for Motorolas (Linux based OS), hence the familiar use of shell scripts and symlinks.
btw I created a /var/mobile/Documents/Slideshow folder for a custom slideshow. I put in jpg, png, bmp and animated gif files, they all work!
Then I copied an out of aspect ratio image, 3615x1685, which gets automatically scaled down to fill the 640 width, but leaves a lot of black background.

Now this gave me an idea and I have been fiddling around the last few days, I have the framework for it, just needs lots of finetuning now.
With previous slideshow you were limited to a image folder with a set of named files, if you wanted to add new slides, you had to edit code and stick to a certain name pattern, out of the scope for "normal" users.
Not any more!
The slideshow theme I have now on my son's iPod allows me to run all camera photos or wallpapers, no matter what they are called.
The problem is that everybody's camera folder has different file names, they all have "IMG_xxxx.JPG", but it is the xxxx that was the problem. Do you build an array from 0001 to 5000 and hope you catch them all? No, not good enough. What happens if there are 300 numbers missing, copied to PC and deleted on iPhone, or somebody took over 5000 snaps? The only real way is through a folder index.
However that caused another problem as html/javascript don't do that, php would do it, but then you would need the iPhone Web Server running. Luckely there is always another solution, Linux command line, in a shell script. Now how to run it? Also there is a solution, with an icon on the springboard.
Tap the icon on the springboard and the shell script will write an index of the camera folder to a txt file which then can be used with jquery to create an array for the slideshow. Well, the problem here is that you do not only have photos in your camera folder, but also your videos and screenshots. Luckely photos are jpg files, videos are mov files and screenshots are png files, so using a filter in the shell script creates now 2 txt files, one with only the photos and one with the screenshots. While I was at it I also added a third txt file with the index of the wallpapers, the ones that were added by the user not the stock ones.
Currently my lockscreen cycles through 235 wallpapers.
Just need now to add a graphical setup so that you can choose what you want in the slideshow, photos, screenshots or wallpapers, maybe a custom folder /var/mobile/Documents/LS-wp as well so that you can create your own slide show.
Will make a LS-Theme of it, but may try to build it into AuroLS(swipe) as another swipe function.
Will take a few more days to finish ..... I hope!

Wow this goes even further than the one I'm using. I can select a camera roll folder and differentiate between jog and ongoing pics but couldn't add the script to set either either portrait or landscape so it's stuck choosing only one or the other

I would say make one simple Slideshow widget first. Incorporate that after into other things. Lots of peeps who are looking for just a Slideshow widget without all the bells and whistles so to speak.

You could always run it under a "frame" layer. Will hide the black BG and enable to be styled differently

Little bit off topic but I had one of those moments today where someone saw my Auros-themed phone and commented on its different look and functions. It's easy enough to explain it is jail-broken and open to modifications beyond Apple's limitations but it's a lot harder to convince people that it looks the way it does because there's a positive community online that design, develop and share the ability to make it happen. It's pretty cool when you think about it.

If you darken that part of the wallpaper to match the line you can give it the effect that it's gone?
I was doing that with lock wallpapers when I was stuck not JB on my 4S. Kinda blended the stock gradients do they looked like they weren't there. Just a thought

Not a big thing but hey...I am doing ma best to put something into community..so these are few very simple walls that I made for me just the way I like them most of the times. The've been made with few tones to match my setups, and they go along together pretty well.
I used the hex color codes to match few tones like gunmetal ecc. Feel free to use them, transform them or whatever.
