So glad our two finest animated weather creators are in agreement as to how to get rid of the jitter. Thanks to you both!

Dacal, will you post the new rain.js, clouds.js, snow.js, etc files for all of us that use your weather? Or will you just give it to your other widget creators on iOSAlliance and we ask them directly for updates to their widgets?
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

I'm not a coder by any means, but could the js. file from June's iphone Snow Lockscreen be incorporated into the js. file from your snow animation? I wonder how much difference there is...I don't know if that's a different script author.... here's the link....
Free iPhone Lockscreen Snow Widget | June's iPhone

Let's give Mr. Dacal some time to make any necessary changes and observations.....hopefully it will be resolved soon

Hmmm spin animation causing the jittery animation. Sounds like the fix I suggested a few days ago on the iWidgets thread.

Smart man....King, what do u think about the animation on June's iPhone snow lockscreen?...looks like it could cause less drag on ram, doesn't it.....I mean, the snow images could be changed or kept the same, but I don't know how the scripts compare

I must find a moment to look and correct, but i will post it for every one (so much things to do ! Fortunatly, SmitBeat helps me a lot - in fact, he updates BaSalt alone now...).

This evasi0n JB has been released too early ;o)). Bad period for me, too much work in my job, I don't find the time to update quickly my themes... ! lol !

We understand, sir. I'm gonna try myself. And if I get it done I'll run it by King or Drifter and make sure I've done it correctly. We can help you sir. It's just that your weather is built into so many widgets/themes that people have released. That's why were kind of anxious to get the jitteriness problem gone. I very much appreciate what all you do for us.

    Hi Dacal,

Thought you (and any other coders) might be interested in reading THIS post.
It refers to iOS6 html hardware acceleration changes.

If you have time try to read through all the Q&A's too.

You should read it before you start removing all the spin/flip animations from your widgets, although I would remove them anyway as they don't really do much visually and I know it won't take you more then 10 minutes! Good luck bud.

    Cheers.

    Good find and interesting/informative read
Same thing June was mentioning on other thread. All very handy to have information.
Apples additional way to conserve battery maybe, not a fun way for developers for sure though

Seems we have to also watch what we're doing with the display: none; property.

Pardon me jumping into territory I really 'am' out of league (no joking - I really am.. ) but I've often wondered if all the display:none; tags in our widgets still eat up resources and if it would be better to remove the code rather than simply use the display:none; tag. Is that basically what it's concluding?

If you are sure you will never need the element again then yes just delete the whole element's code from the .css file, you should then delete any links to the div from the .html file, you also need to be sure there is no reference to the element in some javascript file, I guess you really need to know what your doing... a bit.... sometimes!
