Doesn't look like an official JB announcement. JBs don't take 20-40 minutes to work. Looks real fishy to me.

If it was real they would goto blogs and the already trusted devs especially saurik before they announced let alone release anything. They need Saurik as would be illegal to install have there program install Cydia without his permission

I'm telling y'all the jailbreak won't be released by anybody but Redsn0w or Greenpois0n it takes a long time to work on one and get the legal stuff worked out!

This is exactly correct. Only the big 2 will release. The days of the 'new hacker in town' finding AND releasing a JB are gone.

I dont agree that they will be the only ones to release they are not the only ones capable of finding the exploits and creating a jailbreak for public use

The likelihood of it being an unknown however is very small but very possible

Nearly impossible now that the code has gotten so glutty and full. In the early days of iOS there were about one third the lines of code that there are today. Way easier to find an exploit. That's why there were so many "renaissance men" hackers releasing in the early days. But RedSnow and GreePoison have done both JBs for iOS 4 and the one for iOS 5. That should tell us something.

I'm sure I explained this before but Comex and Pod2g and Geohot were lone rangers who found the exploits Pod2g is the only one to hand them over to the teams for release. They all had jb for ios4 and/or ios5

I know my history and the public JBs from 4 on have been untethered released by RedSnow and Greenpoison. Maybe others found exploits too - but the ones we all used were from Red or Green.

I do agree that finding the exploit and releasing the untether are different things. Lone rangers who 'release' a public untether - those days are gone and haven't been the case since before 4.2.8.

We have had this conversation before.

You post such definite statements that are incorrect I feel the need to comment so others don't get the wrong info aswell

The reason pod2g's exploits were given to the teams is simply because they are known to the community.

Yea Gunny I know them two have but nether one is working on jailbreaks anymore they have moved on. Sadly Pod2 has been around along time just in and out. We need Geohot or Comex to save the day seems like lol
