I knew nothing before the redline theme thread the best thread I've been in by the way

All I done was look at people's mods Max, Vic, June,Omar (Ibnyaffa) Durben Chevvy and Schnedi and sat and figured out what does what.

if you want an iwidget with options you need the Options.plist (look at the first post to know how to do it)
One other basic question. How do I add the Widget.plist. I know it's on the first screen so I copy and paste it to where ?? Or do all widgets come with a .plist and I just add it to the front of that or overwrite.

Maybe a basic question but I wold appreciate the advise.

It would be easier if the MMI app had a thanks button 😃

It's really not once you look over code it does make sense as I said I hadn't a clue before that thread.

Another thing is people don't like to try for themselves look in the widgets folders you have see what they have included if you want to replace images replace them with similar sizes as to what has been supplied

Widget.plst comes with iWidgets only..just take it from any iWidget folder and then copy paste to your iWidget folder..do edit the ''<key>width</key>
    <integer>320</integer>
    <key>height</key>
    <integer>280</integer> ''

according to your iWidget requirements....hope this will help.

I can do most things. Well when I say most I mean i can change font, colour, move the widget, put my own photos in. But I would love to make my own iWidget. And when I say my own I don't mean make from scratch "shock" I mean find a widget I like and tweak it a bit.

I don't think I can agree with you fully here, Schnedi. Master Modders are in a category by themselves. They have something that the rest of us do not have. They have artistic rendering skills. And they have Photoshop, an essential software to do real modifications from scratch to your phone. 95% of the people on this forum do not have those two necessary skills to create Widgets from nothing. I am getting good at "modifying" any widget I find. But I likely will never create a brand-new widget from nothing. Again there is a huge difference between those of you with "orange" names in the upper left-hand corner - and the rest of us who want to 'mod' our phones.
Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

That's is all the majority (excluding some super talented guys who write the originals they know who they are) do tbh once they have a few templates to work off its just changing it up moving stuff around. Nowadays it's more about coming up with something new and different from what has been made before

The orange names don't mean shizz. You don't need photoshop get gimp it's agree program that will do what you need it todo.

As I said before not many write code from scratch majority of modders don't hence the tag modder

You can write the plist in notebook or similar and save it then just rename to .plist afterwards

I agree, coding is easy once you understand the basic structure of a HTML document, after you understand the structure there are many resources on the web to show you how to apply the code within that structure. www.w3schools.com is an excellent online resource that will teach you everything you need about coding in HTML, Java, CSS etc.

Alot of widgets out there have been so heavily modded by novices, that the coding structure is broken and a lot of them have drastic coding errors in them. I've found many widgets that have misplaced nested elements, multiply body tags, multiple HTML tags, open tags without closing tags, elements pointing to missing images, links, etc... so to learn code from that mess can be quite daunting for a novice and not necessarily the best place to look for proper coding structure and methods.

For those who are serious about learning coding, spend some time with the basics first, understand the structure, then you can learn the multitude of codes to do what you want for your widgets.

Made this simple little animation iWidget for myself and though somebody else might like this so I'm gonna share it.

Pictures don't do it justice so here is a short video of it in action.

    Download Here: Drifters Dot Animation.zip

For those of you who run the "unstable" version of iWidgets, I have made a version with Options

    [Tweak] iWidgets-img_0818.png [Tweak] iWidgets-img_0823.png

Options include choice of Overlay, Animated Dot Image and Animation Speed.

Download Dot Animation with Options for the "unstable" version of iWidgets Here: Drifters Dot Animation with OptionsV2.zip

Credit to Durben for the various Overlay Backgrounds used in the widget.

    Have a good weekend everyone

Nice to see some animation on the screen

I have an idea but not sure if its possible, and I know I certainly can't do it but maybe one of the big boys can have a look if it is possible ?

I think it would be cool and I am sure others would too !

So is it possible to animate the SBBadge, you know the one for SMS, Mail, Updates. When I say animate I don't mean jump up and down or do tricks. I just mean to alternate between like 3 x .PNGs every 3 secs.

So it would start red then blue then green etc etc etc.

I am not sure if it is even possible but like I said I think it would be cool.

I thought I would post here as well as this seems to be where all the coders hang out LOL

    Any thoughts from anyone ?

It's possible but not using the code we use someone who knows apples programming code would be able to do it.

We can't link That far into apples system files using HTML/CSS

that's possible with a mobile substrate extension, no with a simple widget and javascript/php
