All my widgets that Schnedi did unfortunately stopped working recently Hence why I'm looking for alternatives, thanks for the suggestion though.

Do they update weather data automatically ? Mine don't, and have alerted Schnedi and he did notice some missed lines that he mentioned about fixing soon.

I created a iWidget pack as well, contains over 20 different iWidgets, from simple animations to RSS Readers to Weather widgets.
All my Weather iWidgets are current and fully functional, using both GPS or Woeid

This pack also contains my Individual Weather Elements iWidgets, which allow you to "create" your own SB Weather widget from several individual weather elements widgets.

Heres the post: iWidgets thread, Page 198 Post 3956 : [Tweak] iWidgets

and for my latest simple creation: iWidgets thread, page 228 post 4549 : [Tweak] iWidgets

The links are not MMI app friendly, but will load up correctly in any Web Browser, or just go to the Page, Post # before the link if your on the MMI app.

Perhaps you will find something you like in my iWidget pack

Haven't checked that aspect recently. But you said "stopped" working. That means "show no date".. .. Ya gotta watch how you characterize things, Dark.. .. Several people have been having trouble with weather updating beyond Schnedi's widgets. But I'm having déjà vu now. We've been down this path already a few pages back. Happy Hunting! The.Drifter has some amazing iWidgets too!

Is there anyway we can reduce the size of widgets through config.js or similar files ?

Not sure which iWidgets you are referring to, but all my Individual Weather Elements iWidgets all have sizing options in the Options menu.

For the other ones, may be a little more involved. You will need to recode the sizing elements in the CSS, or wrap the widget code in a container and then scale the container. Both options require a little coding knowledge to pull off.

I found "Drifter Basalt iWidget Tribute" and it has no resizing option. Can you give an idea of how I can resize sizing in CSS ? I have C, Python, Matlab knowledge so maybe I can figure this out with a bit of help. ( Never coded for HTML etc though ).

Did a quick down and dirty Scaling Jumper HTML for the Basalt iWidget Tribute

Basically I renamed the current Widget.html to iWidget.html and included a new Jumper Widget.html that will now scale the original renamed iWidget.html.

Then I added the scaling option into the options.plist.

This method can be used to scale any iWidget, but will not move the widget to the top left corner.

However, I did resize the widget.plist's Height value, so you should be able to place icons to either side of the widget and still be able to touch them.

Hopefully this is what your after

Download here: Drifter Basalt iWidget Tribute V4.zip

Credits to Dacal for the original LS code to work with, and Durben for the method used to escape the widget.plist boundries

    Cheers

Thank you very much The.Drifter !! That's exactly what I want

Is it possible for me to extract the resizing code and apply it to other widgets ? Or is that hard ?

Try on your own. . That's how we all learn - and it's very rewarding to see it work as a result of ur own work!

Love this widget Drifter. Thank you. How could I go about scaling to 95% 100 is too big and 90 is too small for me.

Simplest way is to edit the Widget.html and change this value to (0.95) here:

When you launch the iWidget options menu, just select the 90% scale and it will show up 95% scale instead.

Thank you so much The.Drifter !! Managed to apply your scaling option to an HTC Clock widget.
Had to edit the widget.html file to avoid cropping the picture from scaling. And also edited the .plist file to change default options !

Isn't it a lot more fun when you learn to mod for yourself?! Drifter, Ian. Dacal and Durben have such clean code to learn from. What I've learned comes from studying their work (certainly MamaJaay/Bombmom & Schnedi are in that club too!!).

You're off to a good start, Dark!

Thank you Yeah, in my course of studies I had to do a lot of software, so the feeling to get something working is great !!

But i'm not really into modding tbh, I just wanted a widget that works :P But I guess it's best to customise something to my own way since no one has the same taste !!
