That was basically an exercise of futility! Sorry!

As Durben has stated, there isn't any difference. The iWidget by definition, automatically uses the option.plist!

It's too bad that big D spoiled my fun! I was trying to force you to come to that conclusion on you own by giving you a couple of more hints.

    You were so close!

Now if you need anything else, just ask, we'll get you there.

Widget-Weather App Now Available! Also with MyLocation Support!
Check out the thread here - Widget-Weather
To install the Widget-Weather app, just go to Cydia and install. This will also remove MyLocation, as it is built in!
Want to protect your JailBreak! Add this repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iLEXiNFO/ & Install "iLEX R.A.T."
It will allow you to bring your phone back to a fresh jailbroken state!

It happened to me once actually. But I don't think it's cause of the widget. Try another widget and see what happens

    Get it?

The type of the option in the plist is what tells it to be true or false (on/off) setting, a window to choose a setting or edit option to bring up a keyboard and type it in.

iWidgets use the Options.plist as the Config.js file.
As long as all variables are defined in the options plist you don't need the Config.js for variables
Or the script type src pointing to it.
DING, DING, DING!!!! Derrick - you were my first teacher - and you've come thru again!! I 'think' a light bulb went off.. but it leads to more questions (see below).... but THANKS!!!

No worries, Brian. My time comparing the two files was VERY helpful. It's a similar teaching tool I use with my recording engineering students. I'm completely happy 'finding my way'.

Exactly. I think I can reverse engineer an Options.plist to a config.js now (which needs a call in the head of the html.. right?).. But I'm still stumped on something. Somewhere in ONE of the program files HAS to be a place where variables are defined that can THEN be affected by what's in the config.js/Options.plist. That's what I'd like to know how to spot. My guess is that those variables are defined somewhere in 'any' .js file. Because I know there are variables we can change in the config.js/Options.plist that are found in Location.js and Main.js. So what is the syntax in the Main.js and/or location.js - that is AUTOMATICALLY, then, 'changeable' by the contents of the config.js/Options.plist? Because the other skill I'll want to be able to have is MAKING something a variable in the config.js for widgets I create. I'd just like to know WHAT syntax in the Main.js/location.js tells me that I'll find a variable for it in the config.js?

Thank you. I felt so insulted by this that I was about to report it. I mean, do any of us want to live in a world where Grant can have a higher thank count than someone like me. That deserves an infraction.

Oh...oh I just realized u meant an infraction for the "suck it" part. I thought u were going to give him one for passing my thank count. I was like, "Good looking out Simon" but I guess this makes more sense.

    Hi peoples.
Just a quick note on daddykools Chalkboard iWidget. For those of you having safe mode when adding the widget, I think I've found the culprit. If you're adding the iWidget with the default "Spils" weather image, I think this is why it's crashing.

I'm no coder...but in saying that, it seems to have solved my issue. In Options.plist at the very top, you'll see:

    Code:
    <key>default</key>
    <string>spils</string>
    Change to:

    Code:
    <key>default</key>
    <string>Spils</string>
I think the lowercase "S" is causing an error.

    Thank you.
