Many can argue here. If he makes it all Dynamic Views, then it won't use much RAM, but of course, if he wants to get a bit fancy with animations and other little extras, he will have to use MainView more and that does use a bit of RAM. It all depends on how he sets it up. I'm sure he will be able to mix the two together and make it both easy and friendly.

Me too
. In all seriousness though, I don't think it will be too heavy on it
That's the approach I want to take. The only downside to using DynamicViews to animate things is that you can't animate them out before they disappear. I've figured out that DreamBoard executes a list of actions at one time, rather than waiting for the previous to finish. So, because DynamicViews just disappear when turned off, I won't be able to animate them before they leave. Don't think it'll be too much of a problem, as long as it is very carefully set up

Sounds good. If you ever need a beta tester for this, just shoot me a PM. =D. I've never been to hyped about adding animations, but they make the theme feel more alive. Since i'm more of a "RAM saver" myself, i try not to use animations, but that is just me! lol. Like i said before, i know you'll be able to mix both of them and make a marvelous theme!

Although this is on an iPad, iPhone and iPod users will receive the same experience (Actual animating dock, menubar, widgets, etc...) I just prefer the real estate on the iPad, and it looks better to show, but anyway, here it is! A very early makeup, but a usable one :P.
I plan to make this as close as humanly possible to Mountain Lion in every way. I even upgraded to Mountain Lion to do so, and installed Windows 8, so I can make sure of it.

If you really are willing to put some time into it, DreamBoard isn't terribly complicated to re-create (code) with your own features (dylibs for themes, calling main() function, etc.). Problem is the time it takes to do so.

I wouldn't mind investing time for a theme that comes exceptionally close to replicating OS X. I considered doing so for a while, but gave up on the option, because I was unsure as to where I should start. I initially was going to start with OS7's source code, but its setup seemed too far off from what I wanted to do. I still feel kinda like I need a starting point, because XCode is ridiculously complicated for newbies, and I'm not that far into Obj-C to know how to just start from scratch. If you could help me get started, I'd definitely take the theme that direction.

That's just it. You need a starting point. And then you need to be able to code programatically. I'd start with an app that renders things the way you want them, then create the theme using the ap, and then work on creating the hooks and such to get the app integrated with iOS.

Yeah, it would be incredibly fast if you could make it a dylib. If you don't want to have to reverse engineer everything, instead of making your own customized dreamboard, you could just use OS7's source code. I took a look at it, and it looks like it could work for your theme(s) with some modifications.
