    Hey guys,

I saw the attempt of our colleague cornelutz_rtm to replicate a UISwitch and decided to give it a try myself.

I can create the switch but I am not quite sure which files need to be changed. It is quite complicated.

This is my result. Which are the files that need to be changed? I can't set different colors for On/Off :

    oh come on guys...
I'm a user from Tenuis to Edius then Jaku. It's been some years. I never let this theme style go and had so much fun with it. It surprised me that it could be developed to this level thanks to Lok. Lok is the most talented themer I've ever seen, which means, Jaku is the sickest theme on earth I think. I guess you guys think so too perhaps. But not everyone loves Jaku as we do. Some of my friends love other themes which I consider ****. So what do people do here in this forum? We share with people loving the very same theme. We hang around with the people with the same taste. We(You actually) help guys out to make their Jaku look better. We seek stuff we need to match Jaku. Ain't all these normal and beautiful? Copy rights are important and need to be respect for sure. Turning Jaku to a paid theme surely made it a much better one. I do appreciate it and so I paid for it. Not because I don't have other ways to get the deb. file or other elements(you know how easy that is) but I just like it so much therefore I wanna own it. Just like I bought angry birds and other app store apps in order to have the updates right at the moment they got updated. So I believe people who wanna buy it always buy it and people dont wanna buy it dont buy it forever no matter what you do to protect it or how good it is. In my view more people know about or experience the beauty of Jaku then more people would buy it. Ironicly I knew Jaku from a kinda pirate site and downloaded it and used it for a while then I needed more icons and I did some searchings then I got here and knew it's a paid theme and finally I decided to purchase it. Thats my story. From the angle of business, it's not always a bad thing to be copied. For example, thanks to other copycat tablets, iPad can sell so much more. Those copycats make the market larger and larger. From other tablets more people know what's a tablet and get to know what's the best tablet and buy iPad eventually. That's my personal point and I don't mean rights owner shouldn't be so serious or protect their copy rights but that really depends, to be honest. I know it's a bit far away but what I'm trying to say is, we've got to respect the copy right and what the creator have to say and decide. I always think sharing is a better spirit on the Internet and Web. You talented people get together here because of Jaku, it'd be so much better if the atmosphere here is nicer and more friendly. It's good to Jaku and all its users dont you think?

Thanks a lot mate, unfortunately this theme does not work anymore (maybe it was for ios5).
Only the thumb button is themed with this.

    Edit:

    I already asked Cornelutz rtm

I know that theme is your business. In the income sense. I understand and said you certainly have your reasons.

But my point of view is you could show people more respect.

I haven't complained about Jaku not being 'complete' or requests not being filled. And I never will.

I believe you're speaking more in general. Cause I only said I'm against your behavior to show up mainly when there's stuff you don't agree with which happened. That's just me.

To quote you : I was just sayin'.

Now if you decide not to keep doing the lovely additions you've accustomed us o lately because of my behavior it really is a shame.

    Well. Again, it's your business.

And those 2$99cts, do you mean you'd want them again from me ? I couldn't see your PayPal anywhere.
I think all that Alfroggy wanted to say is that 'it's the tone that makes the music'. One can say almost anything, so long as one is friendly/polite. Though I appreciate that it's hard to stay polite when you continuously see people ripping off your hard work :/

hello there ... i have made the project of the switch buttons on photoshop then i have tried to apply those on theme when i saw one big problem ... that blue button color is generated by a code and not by an image beside that in the uiimages the blue button is still there so here is my results.

    EDIT:
I updated the theme because there was a bug in it, causing the switch to be invisible when turned On. Now it is Ok.

    @Lok & Froggy

I can see both perspectives on this issue. But I think I can side a bit more with Al on this one. In fact, I made the same argument a long time ago about why Lok did not want modded icons released to the public and I was pretty much told the same thing.

I guess if he wants Jaku to remain to pure and high quality, then why not release updated versions of things like the Settings icon? Maybe I am missing something but wouldn't making an A4/A5 icon with the new A6 style be as easy as simply changing some text in PS? Rather than having people (like myself) hacking up the old A5 icon and modding the new A6 icon for my own use. Granted, I did only use it for my own use. But, as soon as I post a SS of my setup, I am essentially releasing the icon to the public. Or anyone who has enough PS knowledge to do a copy and paste. So does that mean if we have any modded icons, we are no longer supposed to post a SS?

I guess in the end it is Lok's theme and he can take action as he sees fit. We can all agree that that icons he produces are the highest quality. But I do not think he should have the final say as to if the repo shuts down or not. If he says the word and the repo closes, unless we make our own icons, we are pretty much at the mercy of the icons he provides. Isn't that kind of what Apple does and what we all try to overcome by jailbreaking? If he gives an ultimatum of "take done the repo or I am done with updates", well, then I guess that is his decision.

Piracy is going to exist whether the repo exists or not. Piracy is going to exist whether his modded icons are released or not. And preventing either or both of those things is not going to result in a drastic number of pirates changing their mind and actually purchasing the theme.

As Lok said, I don't think he is driving around in his Audi due to his profits from Jaku. Ultimately, he is making peanuts compared to the time he puts in to Jaku. But I think he needs to realize the other benefits he is getting from Jaku aside from the money. Those hundreds of hours working on Jaku I'm sure has given him more and more PS experience to put towards other higher paying graphic design gigs. And the more exposure Jaku gets, the better for him as well. I'm not saying the theme should be free, but in the long run, he is getting much more than just the $2.99 we paid for the theme.

Only thing I gotta say is I understand where Lok is coming from. You can't stop piracy. It's like music everyone downloads for free but there's nothing you can do about it. Not everyone will obey the rules. I feel bad because you can't trust anybody and I can imagine it would suck if people don't respect your work and rip it. Also I can understand Alfroggy. You might as well just respect everyone and pretend that everyone didn't rip a theme and. Very insecure about your theme and that sucks. Just my 2 cents

  29. #19396
After a disagreement with my previous submission of a fresher settings icon for those still using A4 and A5 devices it was taken down from the repo for using the same texture and the modified base of the A6 version. I have spent hours starting from scratch to create a 100% vector based layered PSD (including mask) and nothing is used from William's A6 version of the icon.

Let's say 5% of the Jaku users decide to make mods. Rips. They change the color, tag on some linen, stitching, whatever. That's 250 icons from my theme, gone, made public. Now that they are made public, some guy bundles them up and releases them. Like the Android kids that rape your repo and call it their own. That's outside of the people that do what buddy there did, make a slight alteration and then throw it up on the forums, wherever. It's a numbers game. And everyone who makes a mod knows that attribution goes out the window pretty quick. So, like that, Jaku is vaporized. What's the point of buying it if it's scattered all over the net for free?

All the while, the mentality is that, "hey, it's a small change, people want it; it can't hurt." Ya, well it does hurt. I'm trying to protect my work. I'm trying to protect my theme. To keep it the way I want it to be. Which, excuse me, has turned out to be pretty well liked. But that makes me the bad guy... somehow.

Now I do appreciate the loyalty and love shown by so many. I really do. And I have rewarded all of them by continuing to add to the theme. In fact, a new update will be available shortly, which will support Auxo.

But you are still unhappy? You paid once. $3. A long time ago, and have been rewarded with a years worth of updates for free. But you pull a 180 now because I'm not going to bend the knee on one icon? I think it's your actions that are unreasonable. As I said before, do you get upset when you walk into a store and they ask for the sale receipt? How am I to do that here? Just trust that anyone posting or tweeting or emailing me is honest?

You don't know how many support emails I get where their logs show they haven't purchased it (and stole everything else from Cydia too). But they still think they deserve help. You don't know how bad it is out there. But I should turn a blind eye and just help, you say. Is that what you are telling me? Make icons. Field requests. Add new content. Support anyone and everyone (like I don't respond to 99% of people that tweet me and keep track of things here). That sound about right?

But I'm done explaining myself or having to justify my actions in protecting my work. I really don't think I'm being unreasonable here. The repo has presented many headaches and I think it's time for it to close. Especially now that you tell me no further action will be taken should an unauthorized icon show up there...

Jaku represents very little income for the amount of work that goes into it. I'm sure all you guys think I'm driving around in my Audi R8 thanks to Jaku, but that's just not the case. I made more for two weeks paid work that the lifetime of Jaku. For me, this is about leaving behind something great, not about money. But my student loans and mortgage don't pay themselves. I'd like to get some compensation for my time. And I don't think that's unreasonable.

It's late. I'm tired. And I'm really done with people that turn on me just because they don't get their way. I'm going to talk to Bryan and I'm going to have to rethink what I do with Jaku if this is what I'm going to have to deal with. Because there's no way I'm just going to bundle up every PSD and hand them out so people like you will be happy. I really think you want it all... and that's just not fair.
This is exactly why I have such a hard time sticking around and sharing as openly as I do. It's not appreciated anymore beyond, "Sweet, now I have what I want!" and the work of the artist is forgotten.

This same attitude is also the only reason I am never and I repeat never going to release the theme I've been working on.
Just in our own ranks I've seen people turn on you and frankly, for all the "Jaku is the greatest thing on the planet!!" posts, you'd think a few more of these folks would have your back.

    Distasteful... Shameful...

Here i go. Everyone, just respect the theme and creator. Aaron the new settings icons look great and they are 100 % your creation. You have created something which is truly of the Jaku standard. IMHO the anticipation of an official update is part of Jaku's quality. I think aside from the piracy aspect, original icons should be the only things submitted, that way you are contributing something with as much blood sweat and tears involved, as what is provided to us by William. Aifroggy, I truly believe your intentions are pure, I have never doubted that you respect jaku or lok. I think the bottome line, as it has ALWAYS been, is Just don't alter loks work for release. It doesn't do the theme or the community any favors. In a way it's shortchanging everything we love about this theme. Also if lok spent all his time updating old icons for every platform we'd have 600 mediocre/rushed icons instead of 300 polished and perfect icons. Just assume that everything in the stock jaku files are "read only" and if you want an icon, ask. Just don't ask me because I'm handicapped in that regard :-) Love the update lok, auxo's new switches are pristine.
