I updated the ArtStudio icon since if you want to take a look. The manga camera icon has whitish corners. I need to fix those on Jakurepo

I've been lurking around this thread for a few weeks and some of stuff you guys discuss has helped me a lot. Everything I had a problem with I found the solution here. Decided to make an account & share a few icons I did. No real big deal, just some I thought needed doing.

Also, I understand that Jaku uses the Bundles method for theming app icons and I get how it works, but how come it works with some apps and simply doesn't with others? For instance I created bundles folders for Dropbox, GTA Vice City, Shark Dash, probably a few others, and they worked fine after whacking the correctly named .png's in their respective folders. However doing the same for apps like Day One, Pocket, YouTube and Google Maps came up with no results. It's not big deal I just replaced the icons in the app's folders, but I'd just like to know why it works with some and not with others.

The bundles method should work for any app, it must be a naming issue.

How do you look for Bundle iD's and icon names ?

I SSH into the phone using Transmit on my Mac, find the apps folder and check the info.plist for the Bundle Identifier. Copy it over and open it with Xcode, copy & paste the ID so I know there's no rookie mistakes. I do the same with the icons. Make sure I've found exactly the icon I need to replace. I've even made replacements for all of them in the case of Day One, not just the 114x114 iPhone one's, still no luck. Tried wiping the icon cache too. I imagine YouTube would work but it didn't.

Seems to be more prevalent with the Cydia apps. Especially AppCake, that thing just fell back to using the [email protected] launch image as it's icon then crashed and put my phone into Safe Mode haha.

If you compare it to a screenshot of my springboard you will see what I mean. It's strange because I can see plenty of detail in the majority of DMD's screenshot (like the texture of the mail icon looks fine) but a few parts look messed up..

Hey there bro. I've seen this exact same thing happen to one of my icons I uploaded. I uploaded 4 colored versions of the same icon, and the red/orange one looked like this. It's strange, because I checked back later, and it was all good? Maybe try downloading it again. It was so strange, because I've seen the same thing happen to some gradients on the wallpapers I do for my mums S3, but android platform doesn't do gradients too well. This probably doesn't help at all, but maybe someone will be able to see a pattern or something, and shed some light on the situation? Just to confirm, I attached the icons via the PC on the modmyi forums. Thank you.

It's possible that the actual icon name may be something other than [email protected] or [email protected] (annoys the **** out of me when it isn't), a combination of AppInfo and iFile can tell you all of that information.

Also, the icons look great! I've made some of my own and have contributor access on the repo, but I'd rather not flood it with crap icons that really are just copy and paste jobs.

I want to see the icons in the theme but when i go into the bundles all the icons are blank. I know william extracted the images so they show up perfect on the phone. I just forgot how to extract the images to they are visible. I am on windows btw. Is there a program like iexplorer that shows the icons without me having to extract them?

I think it has to do with the way iOS handles images. They're compressed or encoded or whatever so they show up blank on your computer. I know iFunBox can get rid of that, iExplorer may be able to too but I've never tried it.

also Alfroggy, i keep getting the clipping mask thing in the background, is there any kind of tutorial on how to fix that? i didn't quite understand the method you used that you were telling me about to get rid of it, thanks
