So here's what I've learned in my travels. In the ZUI thread, a good half of the folks posting are also creating, but it's a crazy amount of C/P icons and it's diluted what that theme could be.
Ayecon doesn't have the support or following of a theme that is supposed to be a benchmark.
In the boss thread there are about six or seven people truly creating and 300 pages of leeches begging for every component that gets posted. It's actually difficult to keep up with anything because eight posts out of every ten is "can you share that" or "will you make me that with or without" something. The work is stunning and my work has been well received but the artists have sort of gone underground.
And then we have this thread. I'll just say this group and much of what we have done to make Jaku easy to mod and accessible to everyone is being emulated.
Aeycon has a shared Dropbox now too. You're welcome Ayecon guys. My idea. Pretty good, huh?
Boss has an attempt at a repo but it's just a photobucket album where one guy just uploads everything that gets posted. No search. No idea who did what. Hard to know who to contact of you want a mod and the artist isn't mentioned.
No, the Jaku community is by far the finest group in this den of snakes.
Just wanted to let you know.

I tried to use the boss interface with Jaku. It's a fantastic interface, but I can't get past the branding that is everywhere.

I just realized I haven't changed my theme since Jaku came out. I change icons occasionally, and sometimes I experiment with various UIs to use but that's about it. And I STILL find myself looking at certain original icons (that I will never change), thinking "holy crap, that scrabble tile really looks like a scrabble tile" or "damn that bowtie is crisp."
My job right now is to de-brand boss. I love the style enough to track down all the little b's and remove them.
I'm about 40% done and it looks great.
I'm finding too much inspiration in it to not keep exploring.
I've made a satin alloy mod which is probably the most stunning work I've done so far but it's not quite ready yet.
I know it's not a Jaku shot, but here is the new icon in action.

Zeppelin also works for iTouch? Interesting. I have an iPhone so I wouldn't know. Thanks for that!

Okay look, I hate this general attitude because it implies that you don't trust what you like. I like your setup, a lot actually, but I don't want it for myself. Nothing I would suggest to you would match what you have because this is your device, your layout and the only person truly qualified to tell you what should be changed is you.

If you want to emulate someone else's setup, fine... but this is actually pretty unique, and that's hard to accomplish now when everybody has the same things.

The only thing I'd change is the thought that you need someone else to tell you what needs to be changed.

If I could thank this post multiple times I would!

Exactly what I was thinking but figured my statements would fall on deaf ears.

Oh, I've also decided that most of the boss.ios group are pubescent boys. Most every mod has a boob on it somewhere.
