I'm still not going to do it now. I've learned that if I want to do something cool, I need to just do it and not tell any of you guys because then it's done better than I can do up front. I'll never learn if you guys keep schooling me....

Nah, it's all good. If I wasn't so sensitive to it I would have hunted you down when you made that Dice icon. :-)

Really, this also pushed me to do the alloy tile which spawned the first icon I'm actually proud of, so keep pushing.

lmao! I made that dice icon as a request over at MTF. I actually pointed the guy to your icon first, but he wanted a wooden one. I really don't like remaking an icon someone else already did...feels wrong (unless someone specifically requests it)

Frankly, I learned a lot from looking at yours. I remember the thread. He said mine "didn't look real". I wonder if he's ever been to Vegas and seen real dice?
Anyway, the way you did the shadowing on the dents was so much better than mine. If it sucks, remake it.

I'm also working on this. I thought I lost it, but I found it in the wrong folder. That's what I get for working on icons at 11:00pm with all my free time.

I think it's not done, but I'm looking for input. Whaddaya think?

Just saw it for the first time on my iPhone. Yeah, I'm going to make a full set of these alloy icons for Jaku.
They're bright, colorful and exactly what I've been looking for I think...

I might even lay Zebra print over one and make an Alloy Zebra....

That's awesome, but it's not quite the look I'm going for. What I'm remembering, and this really is about me... when I was about eight my dad and I built my first BMX style bike. I had blue alloy accessories all over the thing, including the double-gooseneck. I'm reminded of the way the light used to reflect off of it, and that's sort of what I'm going for.
It's like a polished, brushed look....

I don't know.... I'm probably just wasting my ******* time with these too.... I should stick to designing systems.

yeah i get ya. When i think of brushed, I think of light grain lines running through it. Leave it be...looks good. I was just putting an option out there. I don't think it looks "better"...just a little different.

Don't you dare quit on these, either.
