Also another thing any advice with dark icons? because in artworks that like a more darker tone the bevels looks like the color is lose and looks like a more pale, with icons with more light tone donts look that way

this happens with the dead space orange icon and the epoch one the other two as simples as they are look normal

The "o" of Outlet reminded me of the square in home button, and it being an app to buy themes, hence the idea behind this icon...
Tell me what you think. I need to bring touches to it still, to the outline for sure, and maybe to the kinda sticker as well.
I can't use the PSD cause I theme directly on my phone. It's been drawn in ArtStudio app, which cannot open PSD's.

This is impressive, especially since you did it on the phone! Looking forward to seeing some more now!

That Grooveshark icon is nice! Could you change the background color to orange to match?

This is probably the most time I've ever spent on an icon and the background idea came from one of Sino's wallpapers and of course the iCloud brushed metal. I did my best to recreate the effect and I think it turned out pretty nice. I don't plan on making this my finished icon so I suppose it's a preview. Blacksquatch was the one who said if I recreated this better with the concept of change (the seasons), it could become a pretty good looking Winterboard icon. I was planning on adding those curved arrows as well but sometimes I think it might look better without them. I also haven't changed the bevel as I don't know how to recreate the same effect curved...down. I also notched the quality of the text within lowered.. I started on a 500 x 500 psd and shrunk it down. Is that why? Again it's just a quick preview but tell me what you think!



I also just did a fresh restore because it just froze on the Apple Logo...

I made a style that you can install to help with your icons. Here is an example of your icon in the default jaku template (right) and the same icon with the style applied (left)



To use this...download the file from here. Once downloaded...just double click the file and it will open in photoshop and add a new style to your presets. You can find these styles under the Window menu...the dialog should look like this:



Just select the "Base" layer and click that new style to apply it


For dark icons like this one...just don't darken the bevel as much...keep the level around 220.
