Edit - are these caches located within each app folder? Because I noticed through iFile within the actual app folder there's a cache folder. I'm honestly not too familiar with caches and what not so please forgive me for being a noob lol.

Progress! Doing this iFile method of changing icons will suffice for now until everything starts working, like Winterboard, etc.

Ooooo this is going to be tough getting just the right looking icons to go with this iOS 7.
It looks like it might be best not to use icons that are too busy looking.
It feels good to be back here

  8. #27346
Tough indeed. Mainly, for me at least, is that only certain icons are changing when pasting them into the app folders via iFile. I'm renaming them correctly and everything. Ah well, I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Btw, I used a program from Cydia called RMCache to clear the caches. Seemed to have worked for the most part.

    No.

Using iFile, navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileIcons.framework and rename AppIconMask@2x~iphone.png by inserting a hyphen or an underscore in front.

Tap 'edit' in the top right corner. Then the plus sign bottom left.

Create a new file named AppIconMask@2x~iphone.png and give it the 'regular file' properties.

When done, tap 'Done' in the top right hand corner.

Respring (I do so by locking the device, then sliding up the lock screen camera shortcut to Camera app, then tapping the photo library icon, then tapping the calculator shortcut from control center).

Thanks that did it. Have all icons changed but have some that will not change, anyone know why the Clock and AppStore icons wont change?

Got the AppStore now just can't figure out how to change the Clock icon?

Oh cool You found any way to change that dock ?

  21. #27354
No, not yet. And no luck changing many icons. A lot, for me, won't change. Not sure why either.

Did you do what I described, before doing a respring ?

Regarding the clock icon, it's located in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and named ClockIconBackgroundSquare@2x~iphone.png

Canvas needs to be made 120x120px, and I'd clear all three com.apple.IconsCache, com.apple.springboard, and com.apple.springboard.sharedimagecache files in /var/mobile/Library/Caches before a respring for best chances of the icon change to take effect.

Install WBRespring from Philippe97's repo (add apt.philippe97.ca/ to your Cydia sources after the http:// which are pre-filled) to avoid doing those fastidious tasks, even more so with iFile not allowing more than one open tab at a time for the time being.

What about that tweak from Philippe97's repo ? It works flawlessly and doesn't require mobile substrate.
