Haha I'm wayyyy ahead of you dude
Been trying that for a year now! Only got to convince my dad to put his credit card in my AppStore account!
My parents think that paying online is dangerous and stuff so they are afraid that someone would steel money from their credit card.. try to convince that! haha

Are you running summerboard? There was a bug in WB and iOS6 that prevented most .plists from working whilst summerboard is enabled. Not sure if its all working now, but it was like that for long enough that many people converted to the bundles method. Thank you.

Ok... So after a nights rest, here's how I feel. I shouldn't have pulled the repo the way I did. I may have created the site, but you guys made the content. There are a few artists who obviously put a lot of time and effort into their icons and chose to use the repo as the main/only way for others to access their work. I honestly don't feel I or even William have the right to shut that down without at least attempting to come to some kind of equitable solution. Now, the fact that the site carries Williams brand means we can't just do with it as we please...so we have to take his concerns very seriously.

I chose not to send William a private message because I think this should be discussed in public considering the content really belongs to you guys.

So I'll start the negotiations... I'm willing to remove from the repo any android icons as well as those using Jaku icons as their base. I'm not, however, in favor of requiring proof of purchase... Mainly because it would be a ton of work and nearly impossible to implement effectively.

I can't see a cydia solution replacing what the repo provided... Particularly the search capability, option to download icons in either size, and giving individual artists their due credit.

I know this will derail this thread for a little while, but honestly, I think it should be resolved here. The repo has been a large part of this theme since very near the beginning and deserves a discussion before it's just shut down (it was my choice... not williams)

Maybe implement icon review before icons get posted so that less ripped icons make it to the repo... Other than the proof of purchase I can't think of anything else that would even help. If you clean up what already exists and have a few people which immediately come to mind, review icon submissions. Also make it easy to have icons challenged and submit takedown requests. What else is there to fix...?

Take down requests was on my to do list even before all this... So it will definitely be implemented.

An icon review would be way to consuming for the people involved im guessing, I think they already did a sterling job getting the icons down that were lok rips or had bits of his icon without permission, agree with bj I don't think the cydia package could work at all,

    Those sound like excellent suggestions!

bjbinc, what do you think about a suggestion that was mentioned before, that is to remove all alts of icons that Lok has themed? It might be an extra motivation for some people to purchase the theme?

Personally I think that's a terrible idea, if people want to buy it, they will buy it weather there's alts on the repo,,,I know cos I bought the theme for wills work, if there are no alts people can just pirate the theme anyway.

I would only do that if William demanded it. No offense to the contributors, but anybody strictly using repo icons is really missing out. There are a few repo icons s that could be mistaken for true Jaku icons, but not enough to make a complete theme.

About taking off icons who use Jaku icons as their base, I have a few icons who use elements from original Jaku icons, but I have asked Will for permission to share them, and he approved. Will they still be removed (it would be 100% understandable if they will, but of course I'll prefer them not to be removed)

I don't think it'd be time consuming. If what is already available is considered "for release" then icon submissions made from this point on, could be reviewed, it might add a little "wait" to the final release of icons, but so what, wait an extra day. Also to anyone who claims they "can't" buy the theme. Ask a family member or friend to buy you a theme for your phone for $3.00. They would laugh at you for not asking earlier. There is no excuse if you are asking for help and expecting icon requests to be filled then BUY THE THEME.

That would be up to him...hopefully he'll address your post directly

I think a "Report this icon" feature along with a daily sweep by an administrator would suffice. Plus... anyone who repeatedly submitted offending icons would lose their contributor status.

How about requiring a password to enter the repo sight? Something like user name and password (user name is your email and password is your transaction number for the theme?

I'm just thinking out loud for a solution
Why do people quote every image just to say thanks?

Well, how is it done on Cydia? Is it possible to use a similar technique? (I have no knowledge of these things, if this is a stupid suggestion just ignore me )

How would I verify that info? Is there a database containing it?

Well I buy everything on Cydia via my PayPal account and it comes with a transaction number
Just thinking if the code geniuses can implement that into the required log in process
Why do people quote every image just to say thanks?
