So many weather widgets; native, gps etc. but what makes the widget work is the weather images. So many great images, but in the end it's still just seeing the same image most of the time. Then you see another widget with really sweet images and so on and so on.

Also the images takes up precious capacity.
So, why not have the images pulled from a website? I know gunny has a site of weather images. They can be sorted by conditions and maybe randomized.

Then widgets can all be a uniform naming structure, partly_cloudy etc etc. then when partly_cloudy happens, the image location is on the website and will show whatever is the current one for that condition.

You never know what you'll get.
Variety, fresh and saving space on your device. Not to mention the time saved in creating weather widgets.

    Pipe dream?
Sounds good unless picture quality sucks...but I guess would depend on data speed? Sounds cool.

    @chevy,

I love your folder/file names! At first i thought there was going to be some off the hook alt hotrod images(maybe an alt version idea) .

Great job on this, it was well worth the wait. Thanks for all the cool stuff you provide to us lessor mortals!

@chevymusclecar OUTSTANDING WORK and Thank You for all of your efforts.

I do have questions as I have to adapt to iOS 5.1 tethered jailbreak on my iPhone 4. GPS Weather Lockscreen has not been updated to work with tethered jailbreaks yet. Is there a way or place to insert my zip code for the weather animation to work???

I have dropped your folder into my themes folder, added the .theme to the end of your folder name and my current display shows the white apple wallpaper image, clock and date bar, tapping shows the forecast bar and it is working, and the bottom weather bar is blank.

Your help would be greatly appreciated so that I can enjoy the full efforts of your work!!!

Pressing the "THANKS" Button lets us know we are helping you!

Trist@n thank you for your kind words! I think there is a way to do my brother The_Durben explained to someone once. I think you can add a myLocation.txt file in var/mobile/Documents with you coordinates in the format of the screen shot below. In the config.js of the "ULTIMATE" lockscreen let var locale=0 as it will look for that txt file for your location. Hope this helps bud!

Please forgive me total noob inexperience but can someone help me with this? Chevy - you said to add a myLocation.txt file. I went to var/mobile/documents and created a myLocation.txt folder. When I went I side I could not figure how to add my latitude and longitude. I'm sure I'm doing it all wrong, again I'm still kinda new to all this.

Not a folder named myLocation.txt but a file with that name. In the file needs to be your coordinates as shown in a few posts above. Get your coordinates here:

    Following are steps involved:

Open the Google Maps website and enter the address details in the search box.
Zoom In the Google Maps as much as possible until you locate the place for which you need the latitude and longitude.
Right click that exact location on Google Maps and select “Center Map Here”

Click the “Link to this Page” hyperlink on Google Maps website and copy paste the URL into notepad – look for the value of ll parameter in the URL – they are the latitude and longitude coordinates of your home.

    Example: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=san+fr...1306,78.457553

Copy paste that value in the Google Maps Search box again to confirm the location on Google Maps. Alternatively, you can use the reverse geocoding Google Map to find the co-ordinates with a simple click.
Widget-Weather App Now Available! Also with MyLocation Support!
Check out the thread here - Widget-Weather
To install the Widget-Weather app, just go to Cydia and install. This will also remove MyLocation, as it is built in!
Want to protect your JailBreak! Add this repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iLEXiNFO/ & Install "iLEX R.A.T."
It will allow you to bring your phone back to a fresh jailbroken state!

Should just be able to tap screen and wait 2seconds for it to display. If you use lockscreen tweak like Lockinfo it may not work.

@Chevymusclecar...Just wanted to show you how great your work turned out with a few of my modifications. I replaced the startup image and the fair image for the panoramic function. I live in Montana so wanted something mountainous. Also changed text a little. My vision is that of an old man so needed something I could see without glasses

The last image is suppose to be the 4 day forecast but as you can see, I have bad news...the end of the world must be happening before 21 Dec because there is no forecast Could you maybe let me know why it is not showing...remember I had to use that script file because GPS widget does not work on 5.1.
