Hey guys, here's some preliminary CKHD "Hybrid" info...


This little zip contains 4 "themes". 2 are with Rounded Rectangles, 2 are Squared and one of each has only the Key Shapes and transparency around them, in case it would be helpful to anyone.

The same plist is in all 4, and I believe it should be good to go...? Can't be positive, but there's an .rtf file in the zip with quick explanation about altering the Custom Colors in the plist.

These are at iPad 3 resolution, and show the 120 images needed for iPad 3 compatibility.

Hey! Glad you like the WP7 keys...

Unfortunately, with this type of Color Keyboard theme which uses background images to display everything you see, it's not possible to make it compatible with Secondary keyboards. The part of the code that calls the images doesn't leave a way to distinguish between the user's Primary language (which the whole device uses) and a Second (or Third, Fourth...) reached by hitting the "Globe" key.

I'm asked about this all the time by users of many different languages, but it's always a "Secondary" language that they switch to using the Globe key.

I just started working on a Hebrew version of the WP7CK's... But only because a user finally asked about it and it's his Primary language.

Though it's an absolute ton of work to redo every image, it's totally possible, but only to be used as a Primary kb.

The only other solution, especially for languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, etc... which not only have different Symbols, but also have completely different "Key" layouts, is to use "plist only" Color Keyboard themes (like all default themes that come with CK) which don't use background images at all.

It's entirely possible for me to put together "plist only" versions of the WP7CK themes, using their color schemes at least, but they will be rather obviously just iOS keyboards without the rounded key corners (and this would be true for Primary and Secondary).

Either way, I'll try to start working on that too as I'm able, just so it will at least be an option for those that have secondary languages they need to use regularly.

May be better than nothing!

I have designed a keyboard ages ago when I was using iOS 4... I have carried on using it and updated bits when needed on the newer os' but now in iOS 6.1 on my new iphone 5 I have this issue where I have a white line at the bottom of my space bar.
How do I get rid of that?

Ahh, ok now I've got it...

As everyone knows, the iOS kb is made up of all code created parts, and any images used (whether plist or Settings app applied), reside under all those code created parts, and said parts need to be made transparent in order to see the image underneath...

I didn't get at first that what's broken is the functionality that the Settings app BG image application used to provide... automatically making the iOS Code Gradient BG transparent for us when images were armed...

That stinks, and should be fixed for average users who just like to mix it up or do their own thing for sure...

But in the meantime, I can edit your plist for you if you like, so that it makes the iOS code BG transparent, and also calls your 2 images right from the Theme's folder, where you had tried to put them (that was correct).

Unfortunately as far as the Key highlights, we'll have to wait for an appearance from the true CK Master...

P.s. I've heard talk that CKHD is incompatible with iOS 6.1...?
