That is really useful Ian, although one excuse I could always give to cover up my dodgy PS skills was that the clock hands were SD. Now what am I going to do

Yeah M8, I know what you mean, even at double the size, if it's a small clock the images are still tough to work with, maybe we should quadruple the canvas size then shrink it back down in the css

.. might actually work

i think I'll let you keep modding the hell out of everything on my behalf -- I must be too old to learn new tricks because this gave me a 3-excedrin headache

Hi Anthony,

By default, a background-image is repeated by the browser both vertically and horizontally to fill the screen, since we don't want this to happen with the clock hand image we add this "no-repeat" code so the hand image is displayed only once, here is what it looks like without the "no-repeat" code.

I have added this to post 1.

I am no expert at coding, I am learning all this stuff too, just thought I would share what I have figured out thus far.

I have seen on many posts people asking for the clock hands in HD, this is just the way I have found how to achieve this.

For true HD the hands should be made in Photoshop with your clock image background at 640X960, then use the same method in the css as above to half the size of them for the 320X480 display.

Sorry I don't have the time to go into all the details, that would mean another tutorial but it is just the same method as in post 1, just calculate everything correctly.
