How To: Per Page Wallpapers iOS4
WinterBoard has not been updated to allow per page wallpapers in iOS4, but I have found a way around it. This is a small guide that will show you how to get a similar function back.
Example on iPhone 4

- Install Categories from Cydia
- Create a Category named " " (just a space) and choose any icon
- Create a folder with the name of your theme and inside it a folder named "Icons"
- Use the provided .psd to create the page's wallpaper and save it as "1.png" in the Icons folder
- Move the category to be the second app on the page
- SSH your theme into root/var/mobile/stash/themes.xxx
- Rename 1.png to " .png" (that is a space followed by.png)
- Select your theme in WinterBoard
- Hold down (so they shake) all your applications hidden by the Category icon
- You're done! You now have a makeshift per page wallpaper!
This works by using a large icon that covers the wallpaper exactly and is therefore used as a new wallpaper. It is an empty Category folder because any real app would look messed up in the multitasking bar. It's not a perfect replacement for a WinterBaord update, but it should be sufficient until there is an update.
*I have only tested this on an iPhone 4 where the icon is upscaled and not HD, but I believe this is not a problem on all other devices.

Hi Sir
I've taken all the steps exactly as you stated
but you forget a few things that i find important to know
like how does it work with more icons on a screen (5 row icons)
and why is it that it has to be the 2nd icon on the page
i also have shrink installed so the icons appear smaller
now i don't know what the effects are but for me this isn't working
also i assumed that i have to remove the white letters in the psd as well right?
anyway here is a screenshot taken on a 3gs 4.0

is it possible you could test it on a 3gs too?
or do you have a formula to know the precise format of the psd?
so i could get this to work on my idevice as well.

Per Page Wallpapers iOS4
If you can pre-determine the total pages, we can use "Simple Background" - a free program; and create a wallpaper - total pages+2x320 px width and 480 px height using the given(in the theme) wallpaper for page-1, the given page pngs (say page0.png etc) and again the given wallpaper for the other pages. (All 320x480 pngs). Remember to use a transparent background while creating the panorama wallpaper. Save the created wallpaper in the photo library, activate "Simple Background' and the wallpaper. You will get the per page wallpapers as a single panorama wallpaper.
