I like!It's a risc making the icons black-white, but it looks nice though.
Maybe some widgets? remove one row with icons, and plenty of space for widgets.

just a tip: maybe you can help out people with other themes, you will learn a lot. when I came on this forum I could nothing. in the end of 2009 I downloaded Photoshop and started making icons for iNitsua Neostyle. I modded themes, etc etc, it's a good learning experience, and now you see, I already have 2, pretty nice, themes.
I'm not saying I don't like your theme at all! But just giving you some tips. Cause I see you're not on the forum a lot. I would like to see you more often here

I agree, the black/white icons is a HUGE risk. Not to mention very time-consuming as you will have to make each icon as opposed to using auto-create overlays.

It's cool that you're making an Alienware theme... I've always admire that style. ^_^

yeah i still haven't decided whether to stick with the b/w look or change to a coloured auto-create option. Ill try both and see what I like better. thanks again for the comments, and I'll keep you all posted.

Ahhhh,ALIENWARE...love that name...lol
That was my inspiration when I started to themeing.
Black and white is not that bad,but the squared icons is in this kind of theme,at least for me.Its a risk,yea,...
My personal advice,think alien,if you found an alien device and press the power on,what you expect it will look like?
Mix that with ALIENWARE themes and you may have one of the best looking themes.
Keep the good work,Im interested in this.Remember,think alien.

yeah after the feedback I've gotten I've decided on a new shape. I still haven't tried coloured vs b/w, but that's the next thing I'll decide. I really appreciate all of the comments, they're helping to make this a better theme

UPDATE:
Tried masks with overlays. very very messy. Couldn't get the result i wanted.
So i reverted back to the old shape, and the old style, just made a few modifications to the icon template.

i think the red gives it a bit more vibrance, and the subtle shadow adds to the theme.

what do you think?

I'm also thinking of taking the 'ALIENWARE' off and adding a nice looking clock widget, so the status bar can be used for other things. good idea? bad idea? improvments?

The icon style still isnt finalized, so if you still dont like it let me know

The release is still pretty far off, because im skinning everything I can, however, once it's complete you won't be disappointed.
I've started skinning the UIImages, and ill get alot done tonight.

Looks great, I agree with others stating that the icons, although very nice, will be a headache to make for every app out there. Auto-create FTW.

UPDATE:

-Switched to an autocreate that does ALL appstore icons, INCLUDING the pre-rendered ones.

-made SB darker, which made icons stand out more
-added gloss to dock.

Is the new version better?

i like it alot for sure but i really like the red icons a bit better just personal pref.... but looks sweet just a suggestion the clock is a bit hard to see could just be me.. but cool lol keep it up
