Hope you can share with us this gorgeous theme

I look around at all the themes and I must say, I am very impressed with a lot of them, very amazing designs and usually functional. I am still very new to themeing the iPhone and there is a lot I want to learn and I have figured the best way for me to do that is with a challenge.

This challenge has presented itself to me in the form of Eight OS



This challenge is something I know has to be possible, or if not I want to get close enough to say that I learned a lot and created something that has changed the way the iPhone is used.

Eight OS is inspired by two main things;
First, graphically by a Rainmeter UI called Omnimous. This UI has changed how Rainmeter has been looked at and used. For those who do not know what Rainmeter is it is basically a UI overlay for windows that allows full customisation of the look and the desktop widgets. I have mainly taken the look of this UI as an influence (yes it is a lot like Windows 7 Mobile) as it is simple, functional and looks amazing!
Second, Navigationally (and idealistically) by K.Nitsua & Zaussers Inspired OS which unless you have been living under a mountain is one of the most amazingly different OS changes to the iPhone I have ever seen. The main things I have taken from iOS are the navigation concept and layout.

This theme WILL probably require some customisation to be set up how each person likes but this is what I am aiming for. There will be a number of widgets for the main page(s) that will be selectable via Winterboard as well as color options selectable via Winterboard. There MAY be support for SBrotator if the dev comes out with some usefull updates that help support widgets and iconoclasm. Infiniboard will be an optional addition as I know its a little buggy with other add ons.

At the moment Nicholas Knight and I are working on this together, I am working on graphics, Nic on the widgets. I hope to achieve the widgets from the preview and more.

Music widget is coming, Nick is working on how to pull the cover art from Now Playing to place onto the springboard.

Thats cool, there will be options for setting up your "desktop" Widgets and icons can be moved, changed, turned on or off as you prefer!

At the moment Nick and I want to get Widgets working, they are the most time consuming as they take a lot of back and forth between us to get positions, sizes and usability working correctly so there is less issues come testing time. Once these widgets are working and we are happy with the layouts I will set to work on the options available such as:

Widgets Only Desktop
Widgets and Icons Desktop
Icons Only Desktop
Single or Multipage Desktops

These layout options arent set in stone yet but will most likely present themselves as I get stuck into the rest of the springboard layout and of course I will show you guys examples of these options as they are created.

So far Nick has done some amazing work in getting all of these widgets working well in the theme [with very little toll on the battery and memory]. I appreciate Nicks work as he is in the Military which can demand a lot of his time.
Since starting this theme I have gone back to work which takes a lot of time that I would prefer spending theming from me and thank you for your patience while Nick and I get this theme working correctly.

I promise this week I will have some more to show!
