[Release] iTopple theme - available now

Hey guys, just released our first theme. It's available in Cydia and Rock now. It's $1.99.

At the bottom is a link to our website which has more screenshots and tons of info on the theme.

We are currently working on an overlay with the first update so you don't have icons that don't format, but we have also started an icon request thread in the theming section on here that we will monitor regularly. The .psd is included in the bundle when purchased as well, so if you're good w/ photoshop and make a few, drop them into that thread and we'll get em updated for everyone. We will also post to that thread regularly.

Can I be brutally honest..?, I just don't see any real effort having been applied to this. The icons appear to be 30 second copy/paste jobs just positioned at a jaunty angle and that for me just isn't original enough to warrant the price you are asking , especially when you look at the very beautiful themes out there that have been lovingly crafted from scratch which are available for free.
If I were the cynical type I would say that there have been a lot of people releasing (imo) half assed attempts at themes in order to make some quick cash, if I were the cynical type of course.
That said I wish you luck.

Wow. Ok? Actually it wasn't a copy and paste job. The icons were actually created in C4D and then we went through each individual icon and used the overlay on another layer in photoshop.

Most premium themes are 1.99 on Cydia. We are working on an overlay and intend to make SEVERAL updates to the theme. Sorry I can't waste my entire life making themes. Maybe some people have time to do that, I don't. We do them in our spare time because we like to, not because we need quick cash.

But, with comments like that, I guess our first theme attempt has failed according to you, no mind it's already listed as a hot theme on Cydia.

There's a simple solution, don't buy it.

Yes they are, but they are normally the finished product. You have rushed this out unfinished and are still charging money for it

it's already listed as a hot theme on Cydia.

Why not post your theme HERE I would like to see the responses you get from some serious themers, who knows you might even get some tips and not just the usual 'great theme' two word crap.

Not failed but in an over saturated enviroment it just doesn't stand out from the crowd or offer anything new. I have seen the actual icons, not the overlay, in countless other themes therefore they are unoriginal.

There's a simple solution, don't buy it.

Thanks, while there are still genuine people creating beautiful original themes in their spare time and releasing them for free I will be sure to do that.

please name one theme (link please) that has the same icons as ours.

Also, our theme IS on cydia and rock both. It's sold well on both.

Sorry to disappoint you, we do not plan on making splash screens and changing EVERY element of the theme. Why you ask? Because the 3 of us who worked on it don't like themes that do that. They look cheesy and overdone to me. If you like that, good for you. Again, free country. You buy what you like, I'll do the same. I like the simple look.

The only thing we plan on doing is finishing an overlay and adding several more icons. We may add some more color in places but no, the theme is not half done. We did not rush it out. Again just don't buy it.

I have gotten opinions from several themers, some that i've beta tested before, they think it's fine. Maybe you just don't like simple. That isn't my issue. A lot of people do.

this is just icons, and a shiny background. these themes are a dime a dozen. and it's a bit pretentious to charge for your "first" theme, and then ***** out anyone who tells you what no one else has bothered saying

I really like the idea,

but some advice would be to remove all the copied photos on the icon template and maybe make/put some that will make the Icon feel like one Icon, not a icon with a smaller Icon in it. You know what I mean?

I'm not ********. There's a difference between constructive criticism and just being a Jack***. Which is what you two are being.

Want to offer suggestions? Go ahead. If enough people request things, we will add it.

Again, free country. I'll do what I want and you do what you want. Don't buy it but why are you taking the time to come here and write a huge paragraph bashing something.

As far as asking money for our first theme? What the heck does that have to do with anything. I'm sorry we got a huge positive response pretty much from everyone on twitter an elsewhere except apparently you two. Honestly you are the only 2 negative comments I've gotten out of about 100 or so.

Maybe YOU are the dime a dozen statistic. Again, don't buy it and move along. You aren't hurting me any.

If you want to provide valid suggestions and tips, go ahead. If you're going to be snide and annoying, go elsewhere.

I'll reply to suggestions and requests and consider then. There's a difference between having tact and just being plain out rude.

Also...you gotta stop being an as* truthfully those two have a point, I would of chosen to keep my mouth shut, but they didn't, and you have to deal with that, there are Thousands of themes similar to this UI(less) so what makes people want this? Thanks. Maybe I should have rephrased it, I will respond to people that present things in the way YOU did, not the way they did.

I was offended at the fact that I was accused of releasing a theme to "make a quick buck" and that we spent 30 seconds on it.

Constructive criticism is welcomed. Honestly, we started this theme in November (given we were doing it in spare time), we also had quite a few people beta test and give us feedback, and the most common theme was that they wanted it "simple". A blue UI wouldn't mess that up so I'll look into it.

Here's an example of what I do NOT like. Let's take Glass Orbs Color for an example. I LOVE the icons for that theme. Gorgeous. I downloaded the pro version, but I do NOT like the extras that were added, like the arrows in the email and text app and all the things that just make it look "cluttered"...that's what we are trying to stay away from. I think after I downloaded pro, I ended up deleting about 80 files from the theme to get rid of the stuff I didn't want.

I'll definitely look into suggestions and anything anyone requests, we will definitely try and get done. My thing is, I'm an accountant, that's my day job. I do it because I like to (as do my brother and my friend, us 3 worked on it together). We're also looking at releasing actual iPhone apps (I'm better at coding by far than graphics). But it's all in our spare time because we enjoy it. But when people are hostile and jump on you, that makes it hard to WANT to do it. If they would have rephrased their comments into something helpful, that would have been fine. Maybe I need to grow thicker skin, ESPECIALLY if we want to end up in the app store. lol

well i have to agree with some others.(well not in the fashion they presented their argument).

But me(and i think most others) like their devices to look nothing like the stock theme that most people have. I mean i want every single possible image different from other non jailbroken peoples.(being able to theme is the main reason for jailbreaking).

And since you are charging for your theme, most people expect it to really stand out above the rest of the themes.
