    A 266 Collection: Upgrade to v3

    Now compatible for all devices on all iOS versions (3.0 up).
    Not yet compatible with iPad (coming soon).

    Give your device a new lease of life!
    A great deal of time & thought has gone into the development of A 266 Collection which offers a stylish, alternative user interface with (possibly) the most complete, customised system available.
    The elegant design is minimal, clean and crisp and adds a sharp, stylish and professional feel to your device. Now with HD icons this theme is a MUST for anyone with a retina device!

    Scroll down for more info...

    ––––––––––––––––

    A 266 Collection consists of 3 separate packages:
    1. 266sd System
    2. 266sd Quick (dependant on 266 System)
    3. 266sd Panoramic (dependant on 266 System)

    All 3 packages for one great price of $2.50!
    Buy 1, get access to them all!

    ––––––––––––––––

    A 266 Collection will install the above packages plus 3 additional, free packages:
    1. 266hd Icons
    2. 266sd BossPaper Packs
    3. 266 Layouts for Iconoclasm

    ––––––––––––––––

    266 icons are now in HD!

    The previously named '266 Icons Ultimate' has become the primary Icon Pack for A 266 Collection.
    These icons have been updated to HD and also include SD versions.*

    All App Store icons are themed*automatically.

    266 Icons will be regularly updated and there will be a requests page to the new 266 site (coming soon).

    Also included: SD & HD Icon Masks for use with Masks by Limneos which means you can now theme Cydia icons and not have to wait for an update with your missing icon!

    ––––––––––––––––

    If you're looking for any of the old 266 icons you will find them here (link to 266 OLD icon packs). This includes the Category folder icons which are no longer supported as Categories have been replaced by Folders.

    ––––––––––––––––

    266 System
    This is the base theme for A 266 Collection and themes the entire UI.
    It is one of THE MOST COMPLETE themes available and completely unlike any other available.

    Complete UI, Statusbars, Keypads, Apple Apps including full Calculator, Voice Memos, Messages, iPod, Dailer, Calendar, Safari, Mail, Settings, YouTube, Maps, Camera, Notes… & more !!!

    266 Quick
    This is an add-on theme for 266 System which provides you with a date/time widget for the top of your Springboard. 266 Quick is designed as a 1 page theme using Folders to house all of your Apps.

    266 Panoramic
    A second add-on theme for 266 System, 266 Panoramic uses a different image on each page of your Springboard to create (as the name suggests) a panoramic view across 6 pages. Be the envy of your friends with this fantastic and unique theme!
    There are 5 different panoramic in both colour and B&W.

    I am curious about how much this theme would kill my battery. Do you know?

    Why would it drain your battery? It's simply a theme/skin, different graphics to replace the default ones.

    It would be unfair on the people who have already purchased the theme to split it up and offer parts for free at this point. Sorry. But for $1.75 it's a bit of a bargain.

    Bear in mind it's taken months of development, and I offer full installation instructions, support, updates and take requests at the iPhone266 site

    I could see one thing that would cause your otherwise amazing theme to drain some more battery than necessary. I also have a fix for it.

    The theme uses an HTML as Widget.html for the user background, as well as another one called LockBackground.html for the lock screen. I believe their code is 100% identical but I haven't bothered to check. The part that interests us is the same in both:

    HTML Code:
                <span id="clock">

                    <script language="JavaScript">updateClock(); setInterval('updateClock()', 1000 )</script>

                </span>

                <span id="calendar">

                    <script language="JavaScript">calendarDate(); setInterval('calendarDate()', 1000 )</script>

                </span>
    Basically you have a method that displays hours and minutes, but it gets called once per second. We can do 60x better.

    Then you have another method that displays the date, but it also gets called once per second. Here we can do 86400x better.

    The initial idea would be to just bump the timeout for the clock to 60000, and the one for the calendar to 86400000. But here is a worst case scenario:

    HTML file gets loaded at 23:59:59. when the clock gets called, it will display 23:59 for one full minute, and will always be 59 seconds late. As for the day, it will practically always be one day behind.

    Here is my solution:

    First change the HTML part of the code to:

    HTML Code:
                <span id="clock">

                    <script language="JavaScript">updateClock();</script>

                </span>

                <span id="calendar">

                    <script language="JavaScript">calendarDate();</script>

                </span>
    Then change the javascripts methods like this:

    updateClock():58
    Code:
    var currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );
    becomes
    Code:
    var _currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );
    updateClock():63
    Code:
    currentSeconds = ( currentSeconds < 10 ? "0" : "" ) + currentSeconds;
    becomes
    Code:
    currentSeconds = ( _currentSeconds < 10 ? "0" : "" ) + _currentSeconds;
    then at the end of updateClock() we add:
    Code:
    setTimeout('updateClock()', 1000 * (60 - _currentSeconds + 1));
    This will ensure that we are no more than a second late on updating the clock, and we only run once every 60 seconds, except the first time.

    for calendarDate(), no change. only add the following code at the end:
    Code:
            var currentTime = new Date ( );

            var _currentHours = currentTime.getHours ( );

            var _currentMinutes = currentTime.getMinutes ( );

            var _currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );
    	setTimeout('calendarDate()', 1000 * ((24 * 60 * 60) - (_currentHours * 60 * 60) - (_currentMinutes * 60) - _currentSeconds + 1));
    the first time calendarDate() will run it will put the correct date, then set itself to run one second after the end of the next day. subsequent runs will be at 86400 second intervals.

    Both methods give themselves a one second time buffer, just in case.

    Cheers

    Default ohh the colours! 266 Quick user backgrounds.
    i'm not sure if this black/white photographs are a good idea behind white icons.
    The b/w photos are simply one option. I'll be posting updates on the forums showing all the options and latest updates to the theme.

    I don't use the b/w photos myself anymore but choose to have a user Lockbackground (which became available in v1.2) and BossPaper packs of my own images for Springboard.

    The black and white user interface looks very impressive on top of a bright photo!

    i've been using the 266 theme for awhile and i love it. one of the best features is how the user is able to modify pretty much any part of it. on top of that, jonny is easy to get in touch with and responsive to any questions you may have.

    You can download the icon template from the iPhone266 support site here and create your own.

    If you do please consider uploading them back to the same page for others to share.

    I'm currently finishing off a BIG update to A 266 Collection which will offer a new Icon Pack. The 2 existing packs remain, but the new one matches the dock icons and really completes the theme!
