Why would it drain your battery? It's simply a theme/skin, different graphics to replace the default ones.

It would be unfair on the people who have already purchased the theme to split it up and offer parts for free at this point. Sorry. But for $1.75 it's a bit of a bargain.

Bear in mind it's taken months of development, and I offer full installation instructions, support, updates and take requests at the iPhone266 site

I could see one thing that would cause your otherwise amazing theme to drain some more battery than necessary. I also have a fix for it.

The theme uses an HTML as Widget.html for the user background, as well as another one called LockBackground.html for the lock screen. I believe their code is 100% identical but I haven't bothered to check. The part that interests us is the same in both:

Basically you have a method that displays hours and minutes, but it gets called once per second. We can do 60x better.

Then you have another method that displays the date, but it also gets called once per second. Here we can do 86400x better.

The initial idea would be to just bump the timeout for the clock to 60000, and the one for the calendar to 86400000. But here is a worst case scenario:

HTML file gets loaded at 23:59:59. when the clock gets called, it will display 23:59 for one full minute, and will always be 59 seconds late. As for the day, it will practically always be one day behind.

Here is my solution:

First change the HTML part of the code to:

            </span>

Then change the javascripts methods like this:

updateClock():58

Code:

var currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );

becomes

var _currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );

updateClock():63

Code:

currentSeconds = ( currentSeconds < 10 ? "0" : "" ) + currentSeconds;

becomes

Code:

currentSeconds = ( _currentSeconds < 10 ? "0" : "" ) + _currentSeconds;

then at the end of updateClock() we add:

Code:

setTimeout('updateClock()', 1000 * (60 - _currentSeconds + 1));

This will ensure that we are no more than a second late on updating the clock, and we only run once every 60 seconds, except the first time.

for calendarDate(), no change. only add the following code at the end:

Code:

        var currentTime = new Date ( );

        var _currentHours = currentTime.getHours ( );

        var _currentMinutes = currentTime.getMinutes ( );

        var _currentSeconds = currentTime.getSeconds ( );
	setTimeout('calendarDate()', 1000 * ((24 * 60 * 60) - (_currentHours * 60 * 60) - (_currentMinutes * 60) - _currentSeconds + 1));

the first time calendarDate() will run it will put the correct date, then set itself to run one second after the end of the next day. subsequent runs will be at 86400 second intervals.

Both methods give themselves a one second time buffer, just in case.

mmh. Although you permanatly post this on cydia and on any forum I know i'm not sure if this black/white photographs are a good idea behind white icons.

The b/w photos are simply one option. I'll be posting updates on the forums showing all the options and latest updates to the theme.

I don't use the b/w photos myself anymore but choose to have a user Lockbackground (which became available in v1.2) and BossPaper packs of my own images for Springboard.

The black and white user interface looks very impressive on top of a bright photo!

i've been using the 266 theme for awhile and i love it. one of the best features is how the user is able to modify pretty much any part of it. on top of that, jonny is easy to get in touch with and responsive to any questions you may have.

You can download the icon template from the iPhone266 support site here and create your own.

If you do please consider uploading them back to the same page for others to share.

I'm currently finishing off a BIG update to A 266 Collection which will offer a new Icon Pack. The 2 existing packs remain, but the new one matches the dock icons and really completes the theme!

Yes i saw but i don't work with photoshop

In 45 minutes, i arrived to do 1 icon only !!! and he's not very beautiful

I've 100 icons on my iPhone, imagine....lol

How long till the update. I love this theme, but find it difficult to use without the phone, messages & mail icons on the page.
