I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

First of all THANKS!!!
Pretty cool dialpad!
Only question is how to get text along the top strip (either a name or my number). I tried editing a few of the .png files and no luck. Anyone have any idea how to add text overtop the image and which file to use? Mr_Sprarkle has his name across the top of his dialer. Also, as others haved wondered, how can I get the side border to go all the way around the screen?
Thanks again, coolest dialer mod I have seen!Last edited by worthia; 01-29-2008 at 09:55 AM.

I've got 1.1.3 and it doesn't seem to work. Could you tell me how or let me know when you come up with a 1.1.3 verison? Thanks.

I can confirm that it works for 1.1.3 I just installed it as if I was installing it for 1.1.2 in the Applications/MobilePhone.app folder. Looks perfect.

How do I go about reinstalling this? I had it working fine on 1.1.2 but now that I soft upgraded to 1.1.3 I no longer have it. I'm back to default.

Can anyone please explain to me how I go about readding this to my iphone? I currently am running 1.1.3 jailbroken previously using 1.1.2 when I had it installed.

you need to have the "callglyph_big" to get rid of the default "call" button

Almost there, but I get a line at the top of it, between the call button and the O button. Any fix for that?

I had the same thing, make sure you have the callbkgnd file right, it should go away, I think what your seeing is the black background because nothing is there, the right file is a greyish color that blends with the silver better.

I had to edit the button, basically there was an alpha part there, with no image so I just extended it slightly by using the default background. I don't think it is too noticeable but doesn't have that weird black line. Looks very cool though.
It would be interesting to see someone make an app that is like the old style rotating dialer, considering it is a touch screen, might be pretty cool. Another idea I have is gesture based dialing. So you click a button and then you can draw a shape which you saved for a person and it will recognize it. Say for your accountant, you draw a dollar symbol, so when you draw that symbol, it will automatically call him or bring up his contact info.
Another possibility is a virtual roladex, where you can have a business card snapshop that you can flip through.

Just wanted to drop an update in... I've thrown a version 2.5 of the dialer into the downloads section... once the mods get a chance to approve it you can get it there. It addresses some of the issues people have had getting the dialer working and looking right with software versions 1.1.2 and later. I am currently running 1.1.4 and its working great. (Also had it in 1.1.2 with no problems so I assume it would be fine in 1.1.3 as well.)
Once approved v2.5 is here: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloa...o=file&id=2471
Enjoy,
