[Update] Sony XMB

NOTE: The theme name has been changed from Sony XMB to Playstation 3 XMB.

Hello all,

Just thought I'd start a thread in regards to my Sony XMB Theme.

This is based off of the Sony XMB/Playstation 3. I originally made it because I was not satisfied with he current Playstation 3 themes, so I made my own and released on Cydia for a friend. I received a lot of positive feedback so I continued working on the theme.

Screenshots:

To unlock the screen, simply hold the "Power Button" as you would on a Playstation 3 for 2-3 seconds and it will unlock.

I have so far themed:
-146 Icons
-Charging Battery
-Lockscreen UI
-All Status Bar Icons
-Wallpaper

Keep in mind this is a work in progress. So if you guy's haven't downloaded it, give it a try, and let me know what you guy's think.

Thanks!, It's already in Cydia right now, and I just submitted this update for the lockscreen and status bar icons today!

I has to re-submit this update today, so it will be in Cydia shortly.

For those interested, I have updated the Lockscreen image. I feel it gives a more authentic feel to the theme.

You may have also noticed that the "Power" icon has been resized. It's smaller now.

You can get rid of the big clock and date easily by installing "Lockscreen Clock Hide", I can go into the plist details of how to do it, but there are a few tutorials on this forum about that already.

I also changed the Status Bar to an all solid black colour while flipping through other apps and added 20+ requested icons.

One more change was the Name of the theme from "Sony XMB" to "Playstation 3 XMB".

Nice theme. Just one question, how can i make a unlock code so i can unlock it with my finger when its locked?

Thanks, I didn't use a plist code for the button itself, check under my Bundles folder to see how I altered the Slide Bar, it was made that way for a possibility of another colour being placed in the second half of the image.

I believe there is a code for that as well, but since I didn't use one, I haven't delved into it.

I haven't done anything new for this theme, this was more a test project to see if I can make a theme.

This theme doesn't generate a lot of interest, so I'm thinking about discontinuing this theme and stopping with updates.

There's really no point in investing time on something that's not worth it.

I'm not sure right now what to do. I have ideas for themes that will interest a broader audience.

I have made a wallpaper pack for the various 12 month colours in the XMB, you can download it in the attached files below.

There is also a Dock in PSD format so you can mess around with the Opacity which is best with the different colours.

Hey, new update is out for this theme, it is now 3.0 compatible.

This is most likely that last update for this theme.

I love this theme and have been using it for quite a long time now. I have recently have been wondering about changing the background color to red to match my PS3 and PSP.

Im so glad i found this thread, as i am no artist. LOL
