oh, i see, my bad, u made FSO_BG the StatusBar in the first folder. but that is what i mean. if u look at that image, it is a complete (full size image) wheras FST_BG and Default_BG are gradient style images that get stretched out to fill the whole status bar, but i have noticed several apps that can use entire (full size images) for the Default_BG, if u make Default_BG full size, and some apps just take the center of the image and stretch it out. This is apperant in themes (like vista) that use unsymetrical status bars

Also, i noticed u guys only put a file for SBDockBG, and none for SBDockBG2. This was another thing i don't understand. Why is there an SBDockBG and an SBDockBG2 since they are the same image? do u guys have any problems with this theme not using the SBDockBG2?

Sorry i know this is unrelated, but ur theme is a little more than a theme. U might want to consider posting this as a start of a thread project to theme, and identify every image on the iphone.

he is talking about the three differnt status bars that are in the springboard.app. Anything with FSO is for the home screen (as far as i know)and the reason there is no fso status bar included int he theme is because the fso status bar image is also the same image as statusbar.png in the main them folder (where the wallpaper is)

The default one, is the one that shows up in most application, and in my theme is the one that is solid black with the shine to it. FST is i for the lock screen, and also a handfull of programs use this statusbar as well. I actually need to change the FST status bar to match the DeFault status bar so all applications match. If you notice is the camera roll the status bar is completely transparent, and the transparent file is the FST status bar image.

you can do it either way.. i when i first made the them i didnt know there was three status bars, so i made the statusbar.png like everyeone else did. and just already had it made so just deleted the other one out of the theme, because anything you dont skinn doesnt need to be included in the theme file) you only need to unclude in the theme what you want winterboard to overwrite

I really have no idea why there is the two sbdocks and no i havent came accross any problem with not using the sbdock2 file (as of yet atlest) lol.

The stock images for the FSO_bg's are like 1 or 2 pixels wide because in the table it is mostlikely used as a background images. and anyone that know how to webdesign atlest knows if you use a fild as a background images if it does not fit the intire area or atable it will be duplicated within the table so it appears to be stretched but it is really a bunch of little 2px wide images side by side to fill the table. Now when you have a graphical image (like the green dividers in contacts and songlist and whot not) i needed to make that a hole image 320 px wide cause that is not a gradient images that can be duplicated through out the table and still look correct.. that make sense to you?

add- there we actually some other images that were just gradien 2px wide images that i needed to create as 320px wide, like in the clock app. that green images that apears when you have an alarm set or something was only a 2px wide gradient image but inorder to me to get the look i wanted i needed to make it 320px wide and use a whole image

well that would be nice, and yes we can have 5 icon docks.

oh ya, btw: i found one more problem, but the background behind the time /date is just a question mark. also my lock background screen has an empty blue box. any ideas?

Right, ok now we are on the same page. What i have noticed tho is that if u use an entire image for the Default_BG, sometimes apps will take the whole image, not just the center pixels repeating. But i have found no order to this, it appears to be on a random app by app basis. also i have found that the camera photo album is even wierder. If u use a completely transparent png for the FST_BG (or maybe it is the Default, i forget, i have to check) it will load a transparent .png, and then load whatever the color of the top bar is as the color for the status bar. So i guess what is happening is the top bar is made to go to the top of the phones screen and because u made the status bar transparent it shows the bar behind it. Anyway, the reason i even mention that is to show that there seems to be no order to this.

the camer raoll uses fst_bg and on my theme i just have it transperant, but need to change that to match default_bg (the black with shine) Im not sure why a selected few programs use fst_bg when the rest use default_bg.. ??? but then again look at how many differnt files there are for the damn keyboard..lol i still keep coming up with some mistakes cause there are so many places that use differnt files associated witht he keyboard .. its weird and confusing

yeah the status bar is shown ontop of the program so when tis transperant it shows the program behind it lol..

btw, im starting to see a couple of things that are either duplicated, or not used (very minor, and not errors, just things like putting some stuff in com.apple.mobilephone and some in mobilephone.app) Its not a big deal at all, and doesn't make the theme not work, but what im wondering is how polished r the folder structures. If i want to use this as a template, can i be sure that all the folder names are correct, (i know there are multiple ways to skin a lot of things, and i just wanted to make sure that if something didn't work, or was changed to a different folder structure, that the original (non-working) file, or folder would be removed in that case.

Also how did u skin the background around the "END Call" button? i want to make it invisible but i don't know the file name/path.

And i also need the file name for the bottom overlay for the horizontal movie player. The background for the play, ff, rewind buttons when watching a movie in widescreen.

Since there is now a "working autolock toggle for sbsettings in cydia i made a matching toggle on and off here are pics i hope this was ok to make.... I love this theme.....

Me and cricket still need to go over and fine tune the package and get rid of dups and stuff.. Its weird i was having trouble with somethings would only work if it was in the .app folder and somethings would only work in the com folder.. so still need to do some fine tuning on that.. So as of right now.. it can be used as a template, but there may be some dups.. The folders are named correctly though.

and are you talking about the HUD that has the blue ring around it?

perfectly fine that you did that, if it wasnt i wouldnt have givin out how to make the icons .. just a little suggestion.. please make the lock bigger (if you look at the rest of the icons, the icon images take up more of the icon background also the lock is a little off center (useing you ruler and guides help center stuff also why is your status bar like that?? i changed all of those?????

UPDATES:

What im working on right now is;

caps lock, currently the landcape capslock is not there and am changing the arrow to be red when caps lock is on

sbsettings, black dock when using a third toggle row doesnt line up correctly.

Some small ui stuff i am seeing now being able to look over stuff.

and the number pads for the keyboard to match the dialer keypad

Gotta start somewhere.. Im self taught have never taken once class.. my classes are think of something i want to do.. go to good-tutorials.com and learn how to do it

I never knew about clipping masks till i did this theme..lol made makeing stuff a lot faster than copy and paste

ok well if u r planing on fine tunning it, may i suggest (assuming u don't keep getting those glitches) putting all the skins into "Folders" and just put the settings stuff into Bundles. The setting stuff being items with a folder with just one "icon" in that folder. This is something that always bothers me that to theme the settings app u need to put every icon in its own folder. it clutters up the other folders, so its nice to compartmentalize all those into one "bundeles" folder and the rest in the "folders". cause other than that, this is the ultimate theme template.

I don't know what hud u r talking about, but here is a pick. I want to change the background around the play ff rewind buttons.

Unless ur talking about the "End Call" question in which case its the black semi transparent bar that surrounds the big red "End Call" button that appears on the bottom of the screen when u are on a call.

although it seems stupid an unnecessary some of the icons have to go in specific folders. you cant just put them all in the same folder. some icons are app icons others are frameworks and have to be in bundles. its just the way apple set it up. nothing we can do about it. the background for the youtube image is in the media player framework bundle i believe. im at work right now so i cant check

One of these days maybe a winterboardless theme that auto backs up everything incase you would ever want to uninstall.. that would be sick..
