Vista Bliss w/ working Gadgets on SideBar

Hi Dorreen,

This is what I meant.. I circled the icon that you made from your old theme including the Mail icon. Instead of saying "You Have Mail".. i wanted something like "You have Text Messages" or something like that .

Let me know if you can accomodate brother!

Anyways, I will try to put that together for you on Sunday when I jump back on working on this theme again okay.

Doreen. That looks simply amazing. Are you the same Doreen that used to make amazing Skins over at Wisbar Advance for the PPC?

I don't really consider them amazing (but that is nice to hear) and yup that would be me, it sure was "alot" easier for me to skin the PPC than it is to skin the iPhone!

I was going to stretch the dock but I decided that I don't want vista theme but a vista inspired theme....I have started already I will be opening a new thread with some teasers tonight!!! I will be using the icon style that I posted earlier... You got me started Doreen!!!

a few questions, are going to make different sidebar icons? like photos? and weather?

and is it possible to make the weather app photo cycle through different weather? for examle a picture of sunny weather to rain to windy etc.?

im no good with coding but would a neat idea to impliment depending on the weather in your area

Thank you but to answer your question I'm redoing a small set of weather icons that will display on the Sidebar on that Gadget and also a redoing my Wallpaper Weather theme that will not only change the wallpapers but will actually feed off of Yahoo and change via the Current weather conditions and time okay. Another words the wallpaper itself will keep changing w/ the current weather such as in this ss below:



My old theme works (here is one of my old images from that theme below) but I want to improve on it and redo the entire theme over and reanimate it.

howdy everyone....gonna use my first post to say hi and want to say the theme looks great....can't wait to try it out....love messing and tweaking this phone...I have had Windows Mobile phones for the past 4 years...just sold the Tilt which was my favorite to date...till I got the I-Phone! Anyway, I just wanted to show my current frankentheme ...it's ebl's awesome PerfectStorm but I am using a Vista background that I had on my Tilt....had the other Windows/Vista themes but something was just missing....here is the background i'm using in case you like it. Don't remember where I got it as I had it on my Tilt for awhile. I resized it for the I-phone wallpaper.

How can I get my hands on that wallpaper....the way it is currently posted I can not download the image as an full sized attachment. (anytime someone post an image like that I can't access it for proper download.

Excellent job....I recall the original Vista Bliss with video wallpaper as my theme for a very long time. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the finished product.

Thanks ripped, I worked on the HTC SideBar weather icons and changed the background that the weather icons will lay on top of, what do you guys think yes or no? Now it looks more like a picture instead of that blue default standard yahoo template.

I think it los awsome. Thank you for puttng in the time to work on the theme last night. I was sure we wouldn't see any more updates until Sunday. I gotta tell ya wakng up and seeing that the background had changed was very cool. I using the wall with the lasted released
PS2.0 and it looks great. I haven't had a chance to read the entire thread to learn what is fog on with the additio al icon and sidebar widgets so I've gotta catch up. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

Looks great Doreen.

I noticed that between 3am/pm and 10am/pm most of the wallpapers had a 20pixel black status bar area. I opened them in Photoshop and cropped/resized to remove them.

I really like the transparent status bar look so it bugged me lol. With these not having the black on the image itself also gives the user a choice to have a black or transparent status bar using those choices already packed into Winterboard. Attached are the files for use (had to split them up per max .zip size for modmyi upload) and feel free to pack it into your theme if you so choose, I would be honored.

Thanks you guys, after a long day I really didn't expect to jump back on it last night but I did, and hopefully later on today I'll get more done.

Here's another update this time w/ the weather changing walls (we had rain this morning but right now it's just overcast as you can see) but the the grass, skies and weather icons will all change every time it updates. (alot of images)



Whoops sorry keda51 I'm not ignoring your post (I'm just half asleep atm) Thank you so much I'll grab those files when I wrap everything up on Sunday for the release.

Way to go Doreen, this is looking very promising. Will the final verion give the option to not include the text for the forecast. Just in case we want to add additional icons to the SB? If if it is included could it be a smaller widget in the upper right corner? I know the possibilities are endless, just a thought. Once again watching the background change through out the day is a very nice and innovated touch.... you go girl!

Making some progress and don't worry I will release this theme in both ways, so that some of you can create your own sidebars and images diff from what you are seeing on my theme. That's the whole idea! (making it yours after you get it)

I'm thinking the same thing (using stacks) as far as the Sidebar nope this one is not html therefore it's not going to appear on all pages like my older theme but I believe ebl is doing something like that, I can't wait to see his.

These next wallpapers that will be changing are not like those other ones so you guys have so you will need to keep those separated when I release these new ones since these are "weather walls" that will change via the yahoo feed "not" via standard hour coding okay? And they feed independently of the SideBar Gadget. Here's the last screenshots before I release:

You guys feel free to post your docks, icons and anything else you're doing for this theme, I'm a bit too far into completing this right now to change the dock (even though I'm not satisfied w/ it myself) I'm not about to start it over at this point. All I need to do now is all the Snow, Sleet and Hail wallpapers and I'm done!

If I remember correctly the last dock icon has to be "mail" doesn't it? To match the mail sidebar? I'm sure there will be interest in a 5 icon dock though..there always is...

Doreen these autorevolving/updating wall papers are really amazing....even if the were just regular walls they are some of the best I've seen....I'm assuming you're making these yourself?...Big thanks go out to you.

One thing I did notice between 5pm and 7pm is that they still showed the sun over the horizon....would that be due to time changes/season change...day light saving vs standard time in the rotation of the wallpapers?

Those are just some quick wallpapers but the ones I'm making now will be extremely accurate w/ the weather (I hope) since I did some editing on the yahoo source vs the walls I'm creating. The icons however I'm using are not just HTC's they are modified versions of HTC done by Teknofrik (He has given me permission) and his modified versions of the HTC icons are the best on the net. I'm painting the stars, clouds and changing the grassy hill lighting effects to match the weather conditions. Right now over here it's night and Fair as you can see below. The sunny ones really came out nice, I will also animate the Lightning so when it strikes the grass will light up and the strikes will spark but I don't have time for that in this version, however, those will be (3) frame animations so not too much drain on the resources. I've done them on my old themes but they are diff weather icons so I can't use them for this release.
