Amazing thanks man. I'll give it a try in a bit...to edit the bevel I just look under blend options right? I'll just search it under help tab if not...I can figure it out haha

Just double click the layer and a window will pop up. It's the same window you adjust drop shadow, etc..

Hi, I've been able to modify the theme up to a point. I get lost with how the blank apps work. I've looked at every READ ME file and can't seem to find an explanation as to how i can get the icons running along the right side of the phone. here is a sample of the theme i am piecing together.
OH, and i cant seem to get the calendar to work correctly on the left side. i did happen to come across a post that explains several reasons why it might not work. it doesn't seem to apply to my problem. any thoughts?

You can go to cydia and install the blank apps. You must move the black apps to whichever position you want like how you would move a normal app. In order to get the calender on the left side, you would need to have at least 6 blank apps and two regular apps and position it. You can see by my image below.

Notice the blank apps with the X on it.

Alright. First, for the icons. You have to load up some blank apps for the spaces on the springboard that you DON'T want anything to show OR launch when touched. To do that, you need to get the Leopard 3.1 theme and download it. It has a bunch of extra blank apps in it that you can use. The reason I suggest to use those are because the ones that you can download off of cydia launch safari when touched and that is aggrevating. Once you download Leopard 3.1, you need to SSH as many of those blank apps that you need into root/applications. That's it. Now you do know that you obviously won't see them on the springboard because they are transparent (that is the whole purpose right?). You just have to go to the second page of the springboard and hold down your finger at the very top left where an app would be and once you get that "wiggle" on your dock, you can move your finger back to the first page and drop it where you want it. It's not that hard. For the spaces on the springboard that you DO want to launch an app when touched (like the dvd player, calculator, weather, google, etc) you have to put that particular app over the area and then create a BLANK icon named EXACTLY what it is on the springboard and SSH it into root/library/themes/whatever your theme is called(probably leopard)/icons. This is why your calendar date is not working also. You must have the original calendar app that you normally see on the springboard positioned over that blank area on the calendar. Then, SSH a blank icon named Calendar into root/library/themes/whatever your theme name is/icons. Bam! that should get you workin' man. Hope you understand all this jabber, it sure gave me carpal tunnel typing it.
Hint, for a blank icon, search back some pages here. One was posted somewhere.

Does anyone have any idea how I can change the FONT COLOR for the low temperature forecast (i want to change it to light blue)?
I tried changed the color code in this part (below) of the twoLine.css, but it did not work:
#low1, #low2, #low3, #low4, #low5, #low0 {
vertical-align:top;
width:15em!important;width:13.3px;
display:table-cell!important;display:inline;
font-color:#6495ED;
padding-bottom:3px;

Thanks for the info guys. While waiting for a response to the problem i was able to figure out what to do with the blank apps. unfortunately i need to replace them, they are launching safari.
fixed the calendar, thanks for the info. still working on the blank apps.
a bit annoying. i fixed the dock after uploading this image, i have it set as transparent now. (my son likes the cars theme, i also have a wall-e version too).
i also need to tweak the weather. the placement of the clouds need to be tweaked away from the #.
the #.

leave the clouds alone. Move the temp to the right a bit. Use small increments at a time though, it doesn't take much. Did my explaination help any? I told you those cydia blanks sucked. Launches safari. use the leopard 3.1 blanks and you're good.

Hey Bear,
i saw this little mod posted in the show off your theme thread by dsg....when you add this line :
<key>UIInterfaceOrientation</key>
<string>UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight</string>
to :
system/library/coreservices/springboard.app/english.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
it moves the status bar over on the right....i know how to edit icons to look landscape but we would have to figure out how to rotate the weather and calendar info so it would display landscaped....im sure it can be done
what do you think?Last edited by Ice9812; 11-26-2008 at 09:32 PM.

I'm actually using the leopard 3.1 blanks. I am going to try modifying the black app package with BBedit on the mac and see if i can shut off the web link to safari.
i took your advice and was able to modify the temp # and shift it over to the right a bit.

That's funny because I am using the Ultimate Leopard 3.1 blank apps and all they do when pressed is flash back to the springboard. Are you sure you are not still using stefewitz blank web clips from cydia? Make sure you go and uninstall those in cydia. If you just hit the little x on the springboard to delete them, every time you respring it will put them back on your springboard. That could be what is happening.
Edit- changed up some of my categories icons. I think it looks a little better:

Hey Bear, is it possible to change the weather updater from applestolen to the yahooweather? My update is sketchy at best and might update once or twice a day if I'm lucky. I thought maybe changing it to yahoo to see if it might work better?Last edited by whodatfan; 11-27-2008 at 08:56 AM.

Ice... Sweet man ! I knew there had to be a way to display the taskbar properly in landscape! Do you guys want a landscape version? I have no idea what the HTML code would be to display in landscape, I'll do some research.
Whodat.. Yes but 6 day forecast won't work with yahoo

Just to try I did this with settings app (worked perfect), I am currently using a landscape theme, wouldnt it be possible to mod the plist so the actual application itself is in landscape as well, making it so you wouldnt have to turn your iphone to portrait in settings and other apps as well...
Does anyone know the code to auto-rotate appstore apps much like what safari does? or even just make a strict landscape view app for that matter? Thanks!
In theory if this worked, we could also do this with springboard.app and have a PERFECT landscape springboard (not just status bar)
I posted this in the showoff thread as well, as some discussion pertaining to the topic existed.

i've been using the guitar hero battery theme, but decided to go back to photoshop and fix it. grabbed a few screenshots from gamespot.com for the new guitar hero III and made a new one. here are the examples.

oh my god what you guys are doing here is AWESOME!
as for someone who has only just JB'ed for the first time yesterday (have had the iPhone for less than a month), the read me files should be enough for a n00b like me to achieve what you guys are doing, right? I have the plug and play file, so that should make it slightly easier right? I have already installed Cydia, Winterboard (already have themes), categories, and know how to use these. Unfortunately, I dunno how to use SSH (yet), is it necessary?
Once again, awesome stuff, and can't wait to join what you guys have done!

I believe SSH is important yes. I use Total Commander though as preferred. Although I just just a roughter so WinSCP might be good, havn't tried yet.
Can you please post your edited files of the battery? It will go great with what I am using
