It's freakin smokes dude...no joke. Just make sure you RESTORE to 2.2 and not UPGRADE or you will loose space and performance because of the way Cydia rearranges things. I gained 1gig of space back because the last two times I jailbroke...I upgraded and did not restore.
Hook the phone up to iTunes, Download the update...DO NOT Download and install. Let the phone perform a backup. Once complete click RESTORE..the phone will do the rest. Once that is done it will ask if you want to restore from backup. At this point just go ahead and Jailbreak the phone first using Quickpwn. Once that's done, restore from backup and you will have all your apps, settings, SMS, Notes, etc back on your phone.
aptbackup does NOT WORK...so don't even mess with it. Create a backup of all your 3rd party apps and use that as a list to reinstall through Cydia. If you just SSH the apps back in Cydia doesn't seem to recognize them and therefore you won't get alerted to updates. Good for Cracked PdaNet 1.4 I suppose.Last edited by Bear Hunter; 11-23-2008 at 12:03 PM.

I appreciate the instructions. Yeah in the past I have just hit upgrade and then used quickpwn after to jailbreak. I will try the method you have described though. Curious about one thing you said...
"Once that is done it will ask if you want to restore from backup. At this point just go ahead and Jailbreak the phone first using Quickpwn. "
So are you saying that when the screen comes up, giving the option to either "Set up as a new phone" or "Restore from backup of", you ignore that and open up Quickpwn and let Quickpwn do its thing to jailbreak the phone and THEN (once jailbroken), you restore from backup?

Yep at that point I just shut iTunes down and performed the jailbreak. Once complete you start iTunes back up and it will ask you the same (if you want to setup as new or restore from backup).
I followed the instructions here (minus the aptbackup piece since it doesn't work)

I freaking love it man. I see you used the wallpaper I posted a week or so back...I'm using that same one now, except I made mine light so its a light aqua color. Its definitely a keeper.
Not sure how I like the notes widget though. I think it needs to blend more with the clock/calculator and look more even.

So I upgraded my iPhone to 2.2 today and forgot to back up my clock widget. I need to reposition it to where I had it before, but forgot where the positioning is located within the coolclock.js file. Can someone tell me where it is?

Yeah, I'll figure out a better replacement....brain dead right now.
Darkened the dashboard a little
Edit 2: Darkened everything up a little more. For some reason the icons in the screenshot look a lot lighter than they really are. They do not look washed out on the phone.

In case I need to edit anything, photoshop only allows me to rotate master.psd. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Noob question... How do you get your icons to reflect off your dock?

I am slowly getting there, I was able to change the background of the master.psd file but not the icons.

Here's my latest setup...definitely my favorite so far...

Here's what I have right now. Inverted the dock, tweeked the 3g icon, and adjusted the dock icon reflections down properly.

Man, I'm really liking that blacked out version higher up in the post. I may change to that one. My weather update is still acting stupid. It updates when it wants to, sometimes not at all. Oh well.
Hey bear, if I use that blacked out version up there it has that little clock on it. I guess I have to get the clock widget or could you take that off and put the music player on there cause that's what I use for my pwnplayer app. ThanksLast edited by whodatfan; 11-25-2008 at 04:31 PM.

That looks amazing Bear....can you post the wallpaper (or can i find it on zedge or interfacelift) and the dashboard? The darker shade around the outside looks great. Sorry to ask so much haha
