When you miss a call, this icon appears with the number on it. Can someone remind me, the default telephone icon to the right of it that appears alongside it, where is this located?

The file you looking for is named "SpringBoard.string"
This file must be open in any plist editor program.
I use ifile on my iphone, since windows may mess with the
plist when its copied back to phone! ( Can any one confirm uncofrim this btw? )

Okey this file is in following folders /System/Library/CoreSevices/springboard.app/*Enlish.Iproj*

*English.Iproj may change, for me it is NO.Iproj since my phone runs Norwegian. So this folder should be your country code.*

A few remembers you should follow

-BACK UP ALLWAYS!
-Do NOT edit anything else then the string
- Only edit the text between <String>This TXT ONLY</String>
-Any thing else is on your own risk!

1. Go to /system/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/English.Iproj
2. Now copy the file named > SpringBoard.strings < to your desktop
3. Make a backup of this file, incase something goes wrong!
4. Open the file we just found in any plist editor
5. locate the string your like to edit. change it
   - Just scroll down, and look. The key explains where and what the follow string is. like in picture it says "Search bar placeholder" in the key, the follow in string says "search /@"
   That means this is the key and string for the text in the white field on your search screen ( page -1 if 0 is homescreen )
6. save and exit and copy back to iphone where we first found it!
7. Respring and you should be all good now!

This is the original-
<key>SEARCH_BAR_PLACEHOLDER</key>
<string>Search %@</string>Edit this line in your plist editor.
This is how it should be when done
<key>SEARCH_BAR_PLACEHOLDER</key>
<string>Google</string>

This is the original key sting for the text behind your slider on lockscreen-
<key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string>slide to unlock</string>
And this is edited
<key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string>This way fool</string>

I hope this paint a good picture on how do this. Fool around as much as you like with the <string>The txt here</string>

alright, i manage to open up the springboard.strings..and the words is like a 2 pages of composition..i dun dare to take the risk to edit any of them..aniwae, thnks..sry for the trouble..

first i use winSCP to ssh, den open springboard.strings using notepad..

well. ppl do learn. tings do change. u dun haf to yell n teach unwillingly over here. i'm asking on a nice way n tune. if u'r nt willing to teach, its alright. i'll do wif wad i've. ppl do mistake. i din even noe theres a stupid program called plisteditor in the first place until i google it, and start reading all the step by step again. and b4 tat, i did say i din wan to take the risk of changing becos i dun even haf a damn program of plisteditor. but u insist on teaching. afterall u'r nt willing to gif up until i did it. u juz wan to heard a word frm me, tat is, I'VE MANAGE TO DO IT, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH.

hi kpall312, i'm stuck at taiko no tatsujin. wanna use the japanese characters (太鼓の達人) for this icon but it just doesn't show. what should i do to make it work?

Hard to state the right point sometimes in word.
I did not attack you in anyway, I just tried to make a real hard, solid no way to misunderstand point that YOU MUST follow the guide to the single word, or some can go wrong.

I was real clear on that, just because you stated that this was out of range for you. And you also stated that you liked to change a few things. Thats why i kept coming back with help when you quoted me on this matters. Because then i tought, ok he like to get this done, he dont know how, let me try to help him out!

And when you or anyone else, don't follow "orders",tutorials,guides or hint to the word of it.. Why try more? ( would you realy keep helping someone, if they allways go around you and do something else? )

Thats why i stated my last post as i did, to make sure if you attemt more without reading it right, or learning it. Stay away from it! It was not ment as any harm against you, more or less as a protection against you( seen from the iphones eyes )

But if you like the help, plz pm i will try to help you out!
