font
thanks a bunch for this
One slight problem I've run into is the font color.
The color seemed slightly darker. Can i have like the html color code/ and or font size.
Other than that, it works beautifully

you need the original Helvetica Font on Photoshop... the color is original and the font size should also be correct...
I you think it slightly mismatches... just change it.. this should be pretty easy...
it looks perfect on my phone

hahaha
pears threads always seem to cause drama,
has pear even been on jerry springer?
anyways jokes a side,
nice idea been used to death, i remember first seeing this method in an app for mac, back when jailbreaking was a little changeling.
not really a fan of this method, as i know a lot of people agree, BUT
it did give me an idea when reading this thread some said about having a different wallpaper on ever screen.
so i came up with this idea.
please excuss the choppie photoshop work, only an idea at the moment (normally my photo shop work is very neat, but so some reason my crop tool wont work) so its a bit messing, and i used the same icons on each page, but if you use your imagination im sure you will get the idea.
Having a wallpaper that you can scroll across your screens to view a landscape or what not.(maybe even a naked girl laying down, the possibilitys are endless, hahhaha)
i take a lot of nature photos i take for work and can make lots of awesome wallpapers (so no issues with copyright etc)
im not trying to say this is the first idea of its kind or that i am going to release anything, or how cool i am,
just an idea im throwing out there, if anyone's interested in this i might throw some wallpaper sets together,
all thou making this work on our iphones with all screens (50 +plus icons) is going to be boring to say the lest. worth it?
what do you think?

it'S a nice idea, but the bottom part(Dock) has to be the same.
It's pretty easy to modify those 4 Pictures so the bottom Part looks alike and will fit to every wallpaper.
Remember at the moment the wallpaper needs to be sliced into pieces (Dock Springboard,Statusbar)
but I like the idea ...
It is definately possible to do that.

My Version
Ok i have finally got this down so i made my own package. Here's a copy of the readme, saying what it includes.
Also, here is a picture of what the custom iVista theme looks like. (You can click the attachment at the bottom of the page for full size)There are three folders included , below are descriptions of each. To install individual icons, follow this procedure
1) Make a new folder in "/private/var/mobile/Library/Customize2" and name it w/e you want.
2) Inside that, make a folder named after the name of your icon. (ie: if you were doing sms, it would be named
MobileSMS. To find the correct naming conventions, go to antoher theme and look at the folders there)
3) Put your custom icon in that folder and name it using the correct naming conventions. For example SMS would
be MobileSMS1.png. To find the correct name, again look at other theme's folders.
4) Apply the icon by going to customize > customize images/sounds > Application icons > choose your custom icon app,
and choose the folder you named in step 1. Hit apply, respring, and bam, wallpaper.
-----------------------------------------
Templates
-----------------------------------------
I have included both Photoshop versions and GIMP versions of the Dock and Icon-Wallpaper templates.
For the Dock templates, simply drag whatever dock you want and fit it to the area. For the Icon-Wallpaper
there's a couple things you have to do...
1)Drag your icon onto the template and center it on the red/white square (on GIMP, it should auto center
no matter where you drag it on the template).
2)Edit the text to the icon name using the pre-existing text box
3)Drag your wallpaper and fit it to the area.
4)Rearange the layers like so (top to bottom) ---> icon > Text > wallpaper
-----------------------------------------
Custom iVista
-----------------------------------------
This is simply premade photos with iVista theme that will work with SMS, YouTube, NES, and iTunes (mobile store).
It also includes a pre-fabricated dock
-----------------------------------------
Custom iVista Theme
-----------------------------------------
This is a Customize 2.0 theme with everything ready to go. To install this theme simply put it in the
"/private/var/mobile/Library/Customize2" path. You also have to have these 4 icons as the first icon on these pages
for it to work.
Page 1 - SMS
Page 2 - Youtube
Page 3 - NES
Page 4 - iTunes
Now in customize, go to themes, select Custom iVista Theme, scroll down, and hit apply theme.
-----------------------------------------
I have also included the Helvetica Bold font, because you will need this to edit the font names.
To install this, drag helr65w.ttf to your fonts folder.
In xp the fonts folder can be accessed by going to Control Panel > Fonts in classic view or by going to control panel
and just typing fonts at the address bar.

The zip with all the files and the Helvetica font can be found here.

Hey, guys, letting you know 'freeboard' is now out, allowing you to apply custom themes with wallpapers at long last! So you don't have to do it the annoying long way anymore! Check Cydia for it, it's very stable and works great!
