Default Full Carbon Fibre Skin - With PSD
Well.. I went a different root then everyone else on this one. But it would'nt have happened without all of you guys workin together.
So.. I release to you the Carbon Fibre Skin. Complete with psd file (look at the layers) All of the buttons darken when you push them and all notifications pop up just like as if your phone was stock.

Oh.. Its in CS2 so I hope you guys are up to date on your photoshop.
Have fun and thank me later
    Pending in the download section--

I wanna see pics of yours!!! Show me when you get them finished/installed/modified

    agreed very nice skin!

are you still blocking each icon seperately? so a block lights up or just the icon?

  7. #6
Thanks guys. I am blocking each icon individually. Since its a dark skin.. the Glowing white on the icons is all you really notice darken which works like "just the icon".. kinda lol
Its the only way so far I've found to get the "full skin" effect and still have full icon functionabilty

Jakey.. Ill save an earlier version Psd copy in a few and re-upload for everyone. I forgot most people have older vesions

Looks awesome... I'm finally back from my last couple days vacation (1 yr anniversary, been posting from my iPhone, chillin out at the beach) and now I'm ready to get modding.

I'd love to see your .psd for this.

Ya.. Its as "close" as you can get while maintaining a full skin. They all work like individual buttons.

....Well... untill someone starts programing these things!! lol

ok, so after checking out the psd (very well done btw)
    i have a question..
the entire block that u have sliced up on the psd would be darkened when pressed, correct?
so the reason this works is because u have a dark background to begin with so u cannot tell the whole block darkens.
    hence it looks/acts stock.

    is this right?

  17. #16
no no . The individual icon splices darken each by themselves. You have to crop each icon and save as png to make a whole skin.
So its not one LARGE block.. a bunch of little blocks if you look in the sample folders.
    Those darken individually.

Oh.. and for those that dont want my signature on there... LOL. I made this for you. Just replace the dock image

so whats in the IconCrops folder in the psd would be what darkens.
    the red part, right?

the reason i ask is i would prefer a lighter background but it would just piss me off if the whole block lit up. haha

    EDIT:

ok, i think i answered my own question.
    heres what i meant.

so lets say i pressed maps with a light background... this is would it would look like on the phone.

please correct me if im wrong.

Got ya. Its not the WHOLE Icon crops. If you look in that folder its each crop box labeld per icon you need to crop and save. So if you control click the layer it selects the portion of the image you are cropping. Then you can Edit>Crop.
When its cropped the part you see is the part that darkens.. Roughly 80x100 pixels around the icon.
    Does that make sense?

ok i get it now loring. thanks.

now i know what u mean by this is a 'close' as it gets...
i gotta keep in mind its still a hack. haha.

im thinkin if we edit the 'pressed' png we might be able to make it look nicer with a lighter background. i just cant picture it though...
    any thoughts on that?
