According to a new report this evening from Bloomberg, production on the next-gen iPad Air has begun. And, if the details are accurate, new features may have been revealed straight from the assembly line.

"Mass production of a full-sized iPad with a 9.7-inch screen is already under way, with an unveiling projected for the end of this quarter or early next," two sources tell Bloomberg, refusing to be identified because the knowledge they possess isn't yet public.

Fortunately for those also hoping for a new iPad mini before the holiday shopping season commences, we're told a 7.9-inch iPad mini will likely be available within the next few months as well.

As far as the hottest new features on the forthcoming tablets, the sources say that, in addition to the Touch ID fingerprint sensor coming to the iPad line, the tablets will now deliver an "anti-refelective coating" that should make reading eBooks and enjoying a wide variety of content much easier than ever before.

As of this writing, there's no reason to believe Apple will stray from the familiar entry-level price points for its next-gen iPads.
