Default Apple Reportedly Ending iPad 2 Production

Reports surfaced Thursday suggesting that Apple is poised to discontinue production of its second-generation iPad.

Despite persistent strong sales in emerging markets around the world, the non-retina tablet is fast-becoming an outdated relic of Apple's past. Consequently, the tech giant is focusing on pushing its current generation products.

Since last fall, clues have surfaced to suggest that the second-gen iPad was on its way out. Just last week, Walmart announced that the iPad 2 would go for just $299 through March 7th, the latest indication that domestic demand is quickly waning as consumers turn their attention to the latest and greatest Apple and other hardware makers have to offer in the tablet arena.

While there is no concrete timeframe for the end of production, we're told its coming. And soon.

Ipad 2 has only 512mb of ram and it make sense to stop production . Newer iOS firmware requires more ram usage to run.

However this is true, but it also doesn't have an under clocked CPU like the other a5 devices, and my iPad 2 runs beautifully with ios7 and with multiple things multitasking

I am also using ipad 2 , I am predicting IOS 7 will be the final firmware update. I do notice with jailbreak I am using almost all my ram resources.

By selling ipad 2, Apple is clearing up his old inventory and besides it still works great.
